can be vaccinated to prevent

during any pregnancies. Now,
after decision of Huron County
Council, the vaccine will be made
available to all female students in
their graduating year with the
cost to be paid by the Huron
County Health Unit.

Threshers ‘pion. reunion

Owners of steam engines. and.
boilers are in the dark as to what
the safety standards are for their
machines and what methods they
are to follow in order to keep their
engines in, safe condition,.
Concern at the lack of
information from governmeat
departments voiced at the annual'
meeting. of the Huron Pioneers
• and Threshers Reunion in Blyth
Saturday,
Sixty members attended 'the
.T meeting in the Memorial Hall, to
review business and to find. out
what problems members are
having.
While there is a service
available that x-rays boilers to
check for obstructions and holes
in the tubes and to show where
stress is undue on either side of
the seam. Assistant secretary
treasurer, Ken Innes, pointed out
that everyone is in the dark about
safety standards.
Len. Jacobs said that through
his associations with other clubs
he found that many are trying to
get standards clarified but have
been giVen the run around.
The matter was referred to the
aCcordifig to the county's
development, ()Meer. Spence
Cummings.
Reeve Elston pointed out that if

signs has been estimated at $80

signs should say "Welcome -to.
Huron County". He wondered

signs are being taken down,
Clinton Reeve Frank. Cook said
when he was a member of the
development committee, , the
signs were put up with the clear
understanding they would be
maintained by the committee.
Council accepted the
committee's recommendation for
the road committee to install and
pay for the signs, but opposed the
recommendation for the
"Welcometo Huron" signs to be
removed and not replaced
The booths are given an allotted
amount of space and no fee is
charged but a donation is
requested,
In the past exhibitors have
been reimbursed for the costs of
transporting their machines and-
engines to Blyth for the Threshers
Reunion and these costs have,
