A truck parked in the driveway (fender at right) was missed by just a few feet. Atoms win WO, championship McArter led the way with 6 goals. David Wheeler and Sean Kieffer scored the other goals. Assists went to Dean, Wheeler, Kevin McArter, Rick Knight, Tim Fritz. The boys were the Atom "D" Champs for the Optimist Tourna- ment. Kevin McArter received the most valuable player award for the player. outstanding from the 8 teams participating in the "Ii" -category. They defeated Drayton 2-1-to win the W.O.A.A. Atom "D" champion- ship. The Paul HendersonTrophy was presented to them as Champions and each boy received a crest. Kevin McArter scored both Brussels' goals unassisted. Other team players were Mike Smith; Jeff McGavin, Kevin Johnston, Tim Fritz; Rick Kilight, Wayne Wheeler, Sean Meffer, David Wheeler, Mike Vadir, Dean Wheeler, Marty Rutledge. Coaches Dale Machan, Mel McArter. Congratulations boys. In other action the Pee wee team was at Teeswater on Monday night where they picked up a 5-0 win. Rob Cardiff and Darren Watts scored 2 goal; each and Peter Bennett 1 goal unassisted. Assists went to Da Od Cossitt and Danny Achilles. On Wednesday night the Bantams were at home to Howick where they gained a 3-3 tie. Todd Wheeler scored 2 goals with Ken Cousins getting the third. Assists went to Steve Knight, Kevin Deitner, Brian Tenpas, Mike Watson. - On Thursday night the same team went to Drayton and scored a9-1 victory. Ken Cousins scored 4 goals, Ken Higgins 2, Todd Wheeler, Kevin Bishop, Paul Johnston 1 each. Assists went to Mike Watson, Terry Glanville, Brian Tenpas,. Paul Johnston. On Saturday the local Atom team continued their play in-the local Optimist ,tournament. The first game of the day found them playing Mildmay whom they defeated 7-1. Brussels scorers were Kevin Johnston 2, David Wheeler, Kevin McArter, Sean Kieffer, Dean Wheeler, Tim Fritz 1 each. Asssts went toMarty Rutledge, Rick Knight, Kevin McArter, Kevin Johnston.
