READY TO FALL 7Brussels councillors are afraid
that this. front wall on the old Export Packers
building will be the next to fair in. Ball Auctions,
owners of the building, have ignored repeated
requests from council to haVe• it repaired or
demolished. Council is seeking a court injunction to

Ray Hanna of R. R. #2,
Auburn, was named as new
director of the Brussels Agricul-
tural Society at a meeting held in
the Brussels library Wednesday
night. He replaces Emerson
Mitchell.

and directors were at the
meeting. The delegates to the
Ontario Agricultural Association
(0AA) convention in Toronto have
secured the Peter March Midway
fir the Brussels F411 Fair on
September 19 and 20,
Evening Unit.
The Evening Unit of the
Brussels United Church held the
meeting at the home of Mrs. Ivan
Campbell, 'thirteen members and
one visitor.
Rene Richmond welcomed the
guest with a Poem Smile. Betty
Graber took over. the program
with Onward Christian Soldiers.
Alma Watson gave the Scripture
and Prayer. Betty and Julie gave
a piano and organ duet. Sarah
gave a story .on Stewardship of
caring.. Alma introduced the
guest speaker, Mrs. De Jong,. of
the Health Care of Huron County
Committee for Homebound. Bake .
and. Plant sale will be held at the
Library, April 15 at 2:30 p.m;
The _Program " committee for
April is Audrey Cardiff,. Shirley
Consitt and Kay Stevenson.
The Hostess and Jean Bridge
served lunch.
Plans. were made for
advertising and selling advance
tickets for Canada's Touring
Tented circus which is being
sponsored by the Agricultural
Society.. The Brussels Fair-
grounds on Monday, May 29. In
return the Agricultural Society
will receive some financial help
for the Brussels Fall Fair. Also
regarding the fair, some revisions
are to be made to the prize list
and judges are to be' decided
upon.
In other business, the Society
agreed to sponsor the 4-H Clubs
in the Brussels, Blyth and
Belgrave area as usual. An
application to the Agriculutral
and Horticultural Branch,
Toronto to hold field, crop
competitions in insilage corn,
grain corn; barley; mixed grain--2
or 3 way ; and white beans has
been approved-
The Society also looked after
the arrangements and prepar-
ations for the Walter Ostanek
Dance to be held on July 14 in the
new Brussels Community Centre.
