This three year program concentrates on training graduates for a career in professional music. The emphasis is on practical music studies which encompass private music instruction on two instruments (or voice) and participation in ensembles such as; the choir, jazz band, symphony orchestra, opera workshop and small instrumental combinations. Instruction is provided on keyboard, strings, brass, woodwind, percussion and voice. The repertoire focuses on all types of music making. Students also acquire a broad theoretical and historical back- ground, as well as language, pedagogical and business skills to equip theni for the teaching and business areas of the music profession. In addition, students take courses in the Humanities to' encourage optimum personal development. Career POtential Although some graduates will go on to make a full-time performance career, and others will make full-time commitments as "music specialists" in the recreation areas of hospitals, training schools and homes for the Aged, the vast majority will develop a musical career the way most musicians do,,.,as self- employed artists mixing a variety of musical activities to earn their Hying, Admission Requirements An audition is required by each candidate on hiSf'aer Major Don Blenkhorn of Biiissels, was hired as dog enumerator at • $2.00 per dog, to give out the dog tags and collect the dog tax 'at Grey Council last week. The group will cater to a wedding, reception June 23 at Atwood Community Centre. Members voted. by show of hands for first and second choices in possible training schools, short courses and food forums for next fall and winter season. The annual meeting will be held April 6 at 8:30 p.m. at Mrs. artin MacDonald's home. Members are reminded that each is responsible for finding someone to fill her position if she retire from an office or convenership. Annual reports are to be submitted and Sunshine gifts will be exchanged. A motion was approved that members have "Sunshine Sisters" again for 1978. Mrs. N. Lefor and Mrs. J. Cox, conveners of Family and Consumer Affairs took charge of the balance of the meeting. Bettinger. Mrs. Cox read several smiles provided by Mrs. Bremner. . Tasty lunch was served by Mrs., Sterner and Mrs. Veitch. at $1.36 per cubic yard was accepted subject to the approval of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications . In other busin'e'ss, council de- cided their representatives to conventions will be paid $200, per year. Accounts paid included General $15,558.42 and Roads $12,587.46 for a total . of $28,145.88. At Grey Council's Special Me- eting of February 15th, the tender of Pastill Tile Drainage, Clinton, on the closed portion of Branch of the - Sixth Concession Municipal Drain at the price of $6,671. was accepted. The tender of Hanna and Hamilton Construction, Lis- towel, on the Open portion of Branch of the Sixth Concession Municipal Drain at the price of $8,858.50, was also accepted subject to the Court of Revision of the report. The revised report of Maitland Engineering Services Ltd., of Branch of the Sixth Coneession Municipal Drain Improvement, dated November 23rd was pro- visionally adopted. Maitland Engineering was ap- pointed to make a survey and prepare plans, profile and speci- fications and report on the Buchanan Municipal Drain for a work of repair and improvement as requested by David Baan. Gerald V. Hisser was permitted to establish a wrecking yard at Part Lot 24, Concession 5 on the condition the yard be fenced.
