Hospital. 10—THE BRUSSELS POST MARCH 8, 1978 THANKS FOR THE PENNANT — Kitchener Komet officials accepted the pennant they'll keep as AA champs at the Optimist hockey tournament on the weekend. (Lang lois Photo) Tournament's first weekend a success The. Bru ssels Optimist Atom TournaMent began last weekend with action in the "AA" and "B" Divisions of the tournament. In the "AA" Division Kitchener won the championship by scoring a goal with seconds to go in the game which gave them a 4 to 3 victory over Preston. Kitchener advanced to the final by edging Owen Sound 2 to 1 and Richmond Hill 3 to 2. In the consolation round Richmond won the championship by edging Galt 2 to 1 in the final game. - 1n "B" division competition Listowel, Aylmer, Kincardine and Strathroy advanced to "B" division semi fianls. Sarnia Twp.. and Goderich will play in the. "B" division consolation final. ' The large crowds who .watched the game were treated to very exciting and well played games. The tournament continues this weekend with play in the "C" and "D" divisions of the to ii iii a iii en t. On Saturday. play begins at 9:00 a.m. and on Sunday it starts at 12:00.
