Mr, and Mrs, Ralph Watson of
Brussels were guests of honour at
a dinner party held at the Stone
Crock in St. Jacobs on Sunday,

dinner to mark the 15th Wedding
Anniversary of Pat and. Ralph.
Mrs, Jennie Strachan who has
been hospitalized for several
months, came home, from
Wingham Hospital on Monday.

On Monday night, the Atoms
were in 1VIonkton where they
.defeated Elma-Logan 8.3 to win
their best of three series, two
games straight. Kevin McArter
led the way with 3 goals, Tim
Fritz, David Wheeler, Rick
Knight, Dean Wheeler, Wayne
Wheeler scored 1 each. Assists
went to Rick Knight, Dean
Wheeler, Kevin McArter, David
Wheeler.
They are now waiting to meet
Ripley with the first game being
played in Ripley on Monday
night.
The Novice team have their
first playoffs series underway.
They were in Milverton on Friday
night for their first game where
they picked up a 4-2 win. Dean
Wheeler scored the, hat-trick for
the home team' ',with Marty
Rtitledge getting the other goal.
Marty also picked up the only
assist of the game.
On Saturday night, Milverton
returned to Brussels for the
second game in the best 3 out of 5
series. The home team picked up
their .second win with a 5-1
victory. Marty Rutledge scored 4
goals with Dean Wheelergetting
the single. Assists went to Dean
Nichcilson and Dean Wheeler.
The other teams are currently
waiting on a consolation round-
robin series to be drawn up.
The Midget team played an
exhibition game with Howick on
Friday night while waiting for
their series to start. The home
teani picked up a 5-4 win. Scott
Wheeler scored 3 goals and Doug
Cousins two goals. Assists went
to Rob Dernaray, Tim Prior, Paul
Bragg, Kevin Semple, Ken
Higgins, Bruce Armstrong.
There will be no Minor Hockey,
Public Skating or Figure Skating-
in the arena on Saturday or
Sunday March 4-5, 11-12, 18-19,
due to the Optimist's Atom
Tournament:
Intermediates
play Ripley
The intermediates hockey
club got their playoff schedule
underway on -Sunday night in
Ripley. Those who followed the
team to cheer them on enjoyed a
fast good game of hockey. Gerry
Wheeler slipped ;the first goal !
over the• go.al line with Brian
Workman and Roger Humphries
also getting singles.
The game was tied at 3-3 when
Gerry Wheeler •came through
with the winning goal in the last
two minutes of the game. The
home team held on to pick up
their first victory of the playoffs. 1
The assist were not available.
The Ripley club will be in town
on Tuesday night for the second'
game of the series with the third
game back in Ripley, The serioes
series is the best 3 out of 5 so that
means Brussels will be back home
for the fourth game. It will be
adverised later.
