School Boards will no doubt be
pleased to ;sear from Education.
Minister Wells that the total 1978
provincial grants to school boards
will increase by 4.79 pet cent over
the last year. With ever
increasing education costs they
could have hoped for a greater
increase. Mr. Wells cautioned
that 1978 will be a Year, of
Challenge to keep budgets and
spending in line with available
funds.

We read, or hear daily of fatal
snowmobile accidents. So far this
community has escaped with
minor snowmobile injuries and no
fatal accidents. A great many
fatal accidents occur when a
snowmobile hits a car. When you
are operating a snowmobile,
many in this area do, keep
constantly alert to avoid such an
accident. We do not want to have
to report a snowmobile fatality to
anyone in this community.

Parents of students who use a
school bus will find no fault in the
fact that the schbol bus inspection
program effective September
1978 , is being upgraded with a
complete change in vehicle
inspection procedure. A school
bus may not then be operated on
public -roads unless a valid Safety
Inspection Sticker and Brake
Inspection Sticker is displayed on
the windshield. The safety of
children who ride the bus is of
prime consideration though all
school bus operators may not be
too - happy. about the stricter
requirements.
A list of attractions in Brussels
was made up and there also may
be a brochure printed with
pictures of the park and perhaps
discussed with council,
