. boys had to go back out on the ice
for their third game of the day.
They managed to keep Goderich
off the scoreboard for the first
period and let them score only 1
goal in the second. Goderich
scored 2 more in the third to win
3-0. It was a good day of hockey
for the boys. Those taking part

Atoms win Seaforth tourney
In Tournament action this past
weekend, the local Atom and
Peewee teams had good success.
in representing our community.
The Atoms team played their
first game of the three day
tournament on Friday in Seaforth
against Seaforth. The tournament,
was .divided into an A and 13 -
series. Teams from Walkerton,
Hanover, Kincardine, Goderich,
Listowel, Exeter competed in the
A series while Seaforth, Mitchell,.
Wingham, Lucknow, Blyth and
Brussels competed in the B
series.
In the first game at the end of
the first period it was 3-1 for
Seaforth, at the end of the second
4-2 and in the third period with
the score 5-3, Brussels pulled the
goalie with Seaforth scoring in the
empty net winning 6-3,. Scoring
for Brussels were Dean Wheeler,
Tim Fritz, Dave Wheeler. Assists
went to Kevin McArter and Tim
Fritz.
In their first game on Saturday
they defeated Mitchell 5-3 in
overtime. In the
overtime period, Brussels 'came
„back to score 2 unanswered goals.
Tim Fritz scored Brussels' first
two goals, Kevin McArter scored
the tying goal and the go ahead
goal unassisted with Dean
Wheeler scoring the fifth goal.
Kevin Johnston, Marty Rutledge,
Kevin McArter picked up the
assists.
In the second game on
Saturday, they defeated Lueknow
4-0. Tim Fritz and Kevin McArter

country ski club in Brussels and
surrounding area is Proud to
announce it has become a great
success. Most- were present for
scored 2_ goals each with Rick
Knight, Kevin Johnston, Wayne
Wheeler, Tim Fritz and Dean
Wheeler picked up the assists,
On Sunday they returned for
the Championship game once
more against Sea forth :With the
first period over the score was
tied 1-1. Brussels managed to
score 2 goals in the second. with
Seaforth coming back in the third
scoring 1 goal. Brussels on the
B series championship by
defeating Seaforth 3-2 in a very
exciting game of hockey. Kevin
McArter scored 2 goals
unassisted with Rick Knight
scoring I goals assisted by Tim
Fritz. Dave Wheeler was awarded
the most valuable player award.

Smith, Jeff McGavin, Kevin
McArter, Kevin Johnston, David
Wheeler, Dean Wheeler, Marty
Rutledge, Rick Knight, Tim Fritz,

The. Peewees were entered in
the annual Legion Tournament
held this year in Exeter on
Sunday by Our local Legion.
The home team defeated Seaforth

On Sunday ski lessons were
without a dull moment as pictures
show. Young and old alike
enjoying sunshine and fresh air
the ski lessons on the past two which comes hand in hand with
Sundays preparing for the action the fast growing winter sport.
