For The Citizens Of
Brussels
As we hope to open a pharmacy in Brussels,
which both the townspeople and we as
pharmacists feel will be very important for the
community, this should be a temporary service.
Initially, we will have a toll free phone
number available [or we.will accept collect calls]
for your convenience and we will provide the
delivery service, 4 days weekly at no extra
charge for not only prescriptions, but all your
Drug Store needs. The deliveries will be made
directly to your home.
In order that we can provide same day service
for your prescriptions we -ask that you call us
before 12 noon, for your repeat prescriptions,
which will allow all new prescriptions, phoned
in by your physicians, to be completed in 'the
afternoon.
THIS SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE ON

The basement of Duff's United
Church was prettily decorated
with red and white bells and
streamers with bouquets of
poinsettias for the Christmas
season to honour Patti McDonald ,
at a community shower, Her
marriage to Barrie Bremner, son.
of Mr. and Mrs. William
Bremner, Brussels, takes place
early in January 1978.
Mrs. Barb Fritz welcomed
everyone and announced the
short program, reading a poem,
"As his Mother used to do".'
Mrs. Marie McGavin and
daughter, Cathy favoured with
piano duet, "Country Garden."
An amusing mock wedding
which caused much excitement
was presented. Mrs. 'Joyce Van
Vliet announced the wedding
party taking part: Mrs. Marjorie
Humphries; Mrs. Lou Houston;

ROY J. HALL
Roy J. Hall of Ethel ,died in
Listowel Memorial Hospital,
Thursday, December 15, in his
81st year.
Surviving besides his wife, the
former earl Dobson of Ethel, are
one son Elwin Hall of Owen
Sound, three grandchildren and
two brothers, Cecil Hall of
Kingston and George Hall of
Florida.
He was predeceased by one
son, one grandson and one
brother, Stanley Hall.
The body rested at the Peebles
Funeral Home, Atwood, until
Saturday when service and
committal were held at 2:00 p.m.
Interment was in Mount
Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel.
THOMAS R. P. STEVENS
Thomas R. P. Stevens of
Huron Haven Park, Goderich,
formerly of Hullett Township
passed away at Seaforth
Community Hospital, December
24, in his 68th year.
Born in Hullett Township, he
was the son of the late Daniel
Stevens and Jennie Fairservice.
He was educated in Hullett and
farmed most of his life there,
moving to Cranbrook for several
years before retiring to Goderich.
He leaves to mourn hi's loss,'
one sister, Jean, Mrs. Harold
Pethick of Seaforth, and two
brothers; Er nest 'of Walton, and
Alvin of Seaforth. He was
predeceased by sister, Annie,
Mrs. Harvey Ashton:
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, December 27 from R. S.
Box Funeral Home in Seaforth.
ReVerend , Stanley McDonald
officiated. Pallbearers were:
Wesley Roe, Watson Reid,

cloth donated by'Phyllis Mitchell.
This was presented to Patti alcing
with a basket of articles for her
pantry shelf.
Patti expressed her thanks for
the lovely gifts and to all _ who
helped in anyway to plan this
evening for her. The 8th adn 16th
Unit served lunch to close the
evening.

Mrs. Edna Hackwell
John Penn, director the Family
and Children's Services in Huron
County, formerly the Children's
Aid Society, said costs in Huron
were higher during 1977 than
anticipated and a supplementary
budget will have to be requested
from the Ministry. The 1977
budget was for $473,000; the
actual costs are $512,000.
Mr. Penn said a greater
number of ch ildren are in care
presently than had been expected
when the was struck. Case
work6rs are busy, he said,
handling about 36 cases each--the
highest work ratio in South
Western Ontario and the fourth
highest in Ontario.
At present about 170 family
services are provided per month.
There are 80 children in care.
Mr. Penn expressed his
disappointment at the discon-
tinuing of the Child Abuse
program. He said that in 1976, six
families were involved in the
accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Jack

London where they spent
Christmas Day with Mr, .and Mrs.,

Funds totalling $577,000 are
provided by the Kellogg Founda-
tion for a four-year period—one
year of which is just passed.
About $40,000 has already
been spent in Hitron for such
programs as children's theatre in
Wingham, a drainage project in
Turnberry Township; a Mobility
Club which is expected to be
operating in Wingham by the
summer of 1978; and plans for a
Wingham museum as well as for
the Wingham Centennial in 1979.
Mrs: Graham also announced a
Series of workshops planning for
the spring of 1978 to assist
various professionals in Huron
County.
