An industrial hockey league of
four teams soon willb e in action
at the new, arena and will play
scheduled games at 10 o'clock
Described as a fun league
designed to give those taking part
Dozens of Brussels and area
men put on their skates and
equipment last ThUrsday for a
practice session of the Town
Hockey League. Four teams have
been formed, and it . is hoped
games can begin this week.
Players, especially those
interested in playing goal, are
still n eeded.
Team members are:

The holiday season was not
idle for Minor Hockey teams this
year as it was last year.
On Monday night Dec. 19, the
Bantams travelled to Monkton
where they picked up a 8-2
victory. Goal scorers were Todd.
Wheeler, three, Kevin Bishop,
Mike Watson, Paul Johnston,
Ken Higgins, Ken Cousin one
each. Assists went to Stewart
Cardiff, Kevin Deitner, Brian
Tenpas, Steve Knight,. Todd
Wheeler; Mike Watson.
The Novice team played
Seaforth on Dec. 21 and managed
to hold onto their lead with the
final score Brussels 4 Seaforth 3.
Dean Wheelei scored 2 goals with
Bobby Vance and Marty Rutledge
1 each. The only assists' rent to
Bobby Vance and Dean Wheeler'.
`Bantam
same night the Pee Wee and
Bantam teams travelled to
Zurich. The Peewee team had
little trouble in scoring an 8-2
win. Brian Wheeler and Darrin
Watts scored 2 goals each. Danny
Achilles, Kevin Wheeler, Robbie
Cardiff, Paul Machan one each.
Ass Ists went to Kevin Wheeler,
Darrin Watts, Brian Wheeler.
The Bantams in the next game
were able to hand a defeat to the
Zurich squad for their first defeat
of the season. The score was
Brussels 4, Zurich 2. Ken Cousins
led the way with two goals with
Brian T:enpas and Todd Wheeler
scoring one each. Assists went to
Steve Knight, Paul Johnston,
Brian Tenpas, Ken Higgins, Ken
Cousins.
On Thursday night, the 22nd,
the Peewees were in Monkton
where they were defeated 7-5.

Cossitt. Assists went.to Robert
Cardiff, Kevin Wheeler, Peter

On Friday night the Midgets
`were at home to Blyth whom they
defeated 6-4. Brussels scorers
were Scott Wheeler and Ken
Higgins with two goals each.
Bruce Armstrong and Paul Bragg
collected one each. Assists went
to John Richmond, Brian Deitner,
Rob Demaray, Bruce Armstrong,
Paul Bragg, Scott Wheeler.
With Christmas over, three
teams played at home on
Wednesday Dec. 28. The Novice
commenced at six by defeating
the visiting Mitchell squad 5-2.
Dean Wheeler led the way with 3
goals. Dwayne Achilles and Gary
Martin scored the 'other two
goals. Assists went to Steven
Wheeler, Marty Rutledge, Bobby
Vance and Dean Wheeler.
At 7 o'clock the Atom team
hosted the Zurich squad whom
they defeated 4-0. The first goal
was scored by Kevin Johnstoty
assisted by Marty Rutledge. The
remaining 3 goals were scored by
Kevin McArter unassisted.
At 8:30 the Bantam team was
visited.by Dublin. The final score
read Brussels 8 Dublin 3. Brian
Tenpas led the Brussels boys with
3- goals Mike Watson, Todd
Wheeler, Ken Higgins, Stewart
Cardiff, Ken Cousins scored one
each. Assists went to Ken
Higgins, Ken Cousins, Paul
Johnston, Brian Tenpas.
A single game at home on
Friday night found the local
Midgets playing the visiting Blyth
team. At the end of two periods of
play the score was tied at 3-3.but
Blyth scored three unanswered
goals to win 6-3. Goal scorers
were Scott Wheeler with two,
Doug Cousins one. Assists went
to Tim Prior, Brian Deitner, Scott
Wheeler and Paul Bragg.
The Bantams were travelling
on Friday and Saturday •on Friday
night they were in Blyth for a
good game. With the score tied at
7-7 and .55 seconds left to play in
the game Blyth scored the

underway on 'Thursday, Jan. 5.
There is room for more players
and any interested from age 18 on
