Council from Seat ,orth have
committed themselves to a
program in support of the Unity of
Canada. A committee was formed
consisting of Brother "Red"
Antoine Garon as. Chairman with
Brothers Ken Reidy and Rene
Brochu as members.. The
committee with the support of the
council, purchased 2000 lapelpins
which state simply, "One Canada
(United)", with the Canadian
Flag in the centre. With three
Huronview
Seaforth. Lions entertain residents
hopes to encourage other K of C
councils and other service
organizations to join in this
crusade for unity and would be
happy to present the views of the
Seaforth Council Knights, to
interested groups.
In the spring of 1978 the
committee hopes to accomplish
an "inter-Council" visit between
the Seaforth Council and Councils
in the Province of Quebec.
"We believe that unity of
Canada, can only be achieved
through Service Club
co-ordinated participation and
understanding by those who,
have nothing to gain other than a
strong, united Canada", the
spokesman said,

mushroomed into real reali ty a
committee spokesman said and
added "We believe that we live in
a free country, a free country

tongues, capable of understand-
ing and living as one, united in
freedom of speech -.
Thepins are being presented to
all Separate School children in the
council area, in the hope taht they
will be worn proudly by all the
students. Others wishing one of
the pins to wear need only contact
a committee member.

The Seaforth Lions Club visited
the Home on Sunday afternoon
and entertained with a musical
program. Bob Spittal was Emcee
for the program and led a
sing-a-long of Christmas carols.
The Junior Choir of Northside
United Church, led by Mrs. .Jack
McLlwain, sang four numbers,
There was a vocal duet by Mrs.
Jim Stewart and Ruth Cluff and
step-dancing by Donna McQuaid,
Susan and Sandra Hulley. Gordon.
Rimmer brought greetings from
the Lions and Reverend Father H.
J. Laragh gave a short address.
Miss Marion Gray thanked the
Seaforth Lions and the enter-
tainers on behalf of the residents.
Santa arrived and had a treat of
oranges and grapes for each of
the residents.
The Clinton Public School
presented part of their Christmas
program on Tuesday afternoon.
The Junior Choir of Grades 4, 5
and ti students sang four
numbers and presented a play.
"A Charlie Brown Christmas,"
directed by Rod Culp. The
residents thoroughly enjoyed the
prog ram as the Huron County
Board of Education Austerity
