A SMILING FIFTY — At open house held in the Auburn Community Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kirkconnell celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.' Present during the afternoon were guests and relatives, friends and neighbors from the area. Dinner forthe family was served at the hall by the Auburn Women's Institute of which Mrs. Kirkconnelf is a faithful member. (Staff Photo) Auburn couple celebrate 50th Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kirkconnell were married on December 3, 1927 by Rev. W. B. Hawkins at the Blyth Rectory. Mr. Kirkconnell is the son of the late John Kirkconnell and Elizabeth Miller of Hullett Town- ship. Mrs. Kirkconnell was the former Elizabeth Darr,. only daughter of the late Sam Otter acid Mary Tuberville of Hullett Township. They were attended by the groom's sister; Miss Annie Kirkconnell and by the bride's brother, Mr. John Daer. Reception followed at the home of the bride's parents, where the waitresses were Viola Letherland, Edith Stoltz, -Florence Walper. Margurite Youngblut. Mrs..). C. They are members of St. Mark's Anglican Church and Mrs. Kirkconnell belongs to the Anglican Church Women and for many years has been a member of the Auburn Women"s institute. Mr. Kirkeonnell enjoys gardening and helping others while Mrs. Kirkconnell's hobby is quilting. sewing and embroidery work. They have one son Harold of Godcrich and three daughters. Mrs. Louis (lean) Blake of R. R. #2 Brussels, Mrs. Mary Park of Winnipeg and Miss. Dianne. Kirkconnell of Edmonton. Three grandsons, Donald Kirkconnell and Gregory Kirkconnell of Godcrich and two. grand- daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Faye) Peel of Gorrie and Miss Mary Anne Blake of London. Mrs. Kirkconnell has two brothers. John Daer of Auburn. and Bert Daer of Blyth. Mr. Kirkconnell has twin sisters, Mrs. John. (Clara) Snelling of Port Colborne and Mrs. Charles (Jessie) Snelling or Ottawa. Passed away are . brothers, Tom, lack, and Dave and sisters.
