Happy New Year. May it bring
peace to a troubled world.; Good
health to those who lack it and
faith to accept our lot with
courage.
* * * * **
Last week the people of
Brussels were shocked by the
tragic death of one of our
residents. We read about such
things happening elsewhere but
when someone among us1 that we
know is the victim it brings home
to us how li the we know what is
ahead for us from day to day. Our
thoughts are often with the
bereaved family and our heart is
full of sympathy for them.

Christmas, anticipated with
so much excitement, hustle and
preparation, has come and gone.
With two sons, their wives and
seven - grandchildren it could be
nothing but a joyous time in our
home though it was tinged with
sadness because of the absence of
the one member who could not be
with us but had to remain in
hospital and he was indeed
missed.
The annual Highland Ball of
the Brussels Legion Band will be
held on January 21 this year. Be
prepared to enjoy it in real
Scottish tradition. Don y our
favourite tartan and be there to
set it swinging on the dance floor
to the Boyd Orchestra of Ripley.
