OPP say Mr. Moon has been charged with impaired driving. Mrs. Roy Cousins of Brussels died suddenly in Brussels on December 22 in her 74th year. She was the former Elma LaWrie Phillips born October 4th, 1904 at Woodbridge, Ontario..On March 16, 1927 she married. Roy Cousins of, Woodbridge and resided in Bradford previous to moving to Brussels in 1939 where she and her husband owned and operated the Brussels Creamery and Dairy for 30 years. Surviving are her husband Roy, 3 sons, Lawrie of London, George and. John of Brussels and daughter Betty, (Mrs. Ivan) Campbell of Brussels and sixteen grandchildren, Also surviving are 2 sisters, Mrs. Rene Kaiser and Mrs. Mary Mitchell of Toronto. 'She was predeceased by 4 brothers and one sister. The late Mrs. Cousins rested at the M.L.Watts Funeral Home. Funeral and commital services were held on Saturday, December 24 in the Brussels United Church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Eric LeDrew conducting the service. The pallbearers were: Murray Cousins, Randy Cousins, Murray Mulcahy, Laurie Campbell, Dr. Gordon Phillips and Murray McDonald. Flower bearers were Douglas and Kenneth Cousins. We read about such things happening elsewhere but when someone among us1 that we know is the victim it brings home to us how li the we know what is ahead for us from day to day. Our thoughts are often with the bereaved family and our heart is full of sympathy for them. ** ** * * Christmas, anticipated with so much excitement, hustle and preparation, has come and gone. With two sons, their wives and seven - grandchildren it could be nothing but a joyous time in our home though it was tinged with sadness because of the absence of the one member who could not be with us but had to remain in hospital and he was indeed missed. The annual Highland Ball of the Brussels Legion Band will be held on January 21 this year. Be prepared to enjoy it in real Scottish tradition. Don y our favourite tartan and be there to set it swinging on the dance floor to the Boyd Orchestra of Ripley. ? ry Mrs. W.W.Srnith was a holiday visitor with Mr. and Mr.s Larry Lahn of Hanover. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kennedy and family with his mother Mrs. Kennedy and with his father Roy, who is a patient in Wingham and District Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. David Kennedy and sons of Hamilton were holiday guests at ( the same home. Mr. and MRs. LKouis Ebel of Ingersoll with Mr. and Mrs. Jack McCtitcheon and other Brussels relatives. Mrs. Clarke Matheson, who h ad the misfortune to fracture her right arm and dislocate her shoulder was home last week after receiving attention at Wingham Hostpial. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Armstrong and family and Mrs. Ada Armstrong were Christmas guests with Mr. Harvey Johnston of Clinton. Gwen Bernard of Goderich was (Continued on Page 16) People We .
