Brussels hockey teams
have an active week
All teams in our Minor Hockey
organization finally got into action
this past week. The Peewees
played their first game of the
season against Grand Bend on
Monday night in Zurich arena.
They came home with a 5-2 win.
Darrin Watts and Robbie Cardiff
scored two goals each and Brian
Wheeler 1. Assists went to Doug
Shaw, Kevin Leis, Kevin
Wheeler.
On Wednesday night at home,
the Atoms and Bantams hosted
visiting clubs. The Atom team
was defeated 9-3 by Seaforth in
their first game on the new ice
surface. Marty Rutledge scored
twice for Brussels with Tim Fritz
getting the third goal. Assists
went to Kevin Johnston, Tim
Hensall 5-4. Scorers for the home
team were SCott Wheeler 2, Paul
Bragg, Doug Cousins, Kevin
Semple one each. The only assist
went to John Richmond.
On Saturday afternoon, the'
Novice team played in Seaforth
and frolicked to a 10-3 win over
their opponents. Dean Wheeler
led the way with 7 goals, Steve
Wheeler, Dean Nicholson, Marty
Rutledge scored one each. The
only assist went to Marty
Rutledge.
On S aturday night, the Bantam
team picked up a previously
cancelled game and defeated
Hensall 7-3. Todd Wheeler led
the way with 3 goals, Paul
Johnston 2 goals, Brian Tenpas
and Ken Higgins 1 each. Assists
