Belgrave church holds baptismal service

the baptismal service in Knox
United Church, Belgra we on
Sunday morning when the Rev.
John G. Roberts baptized mine
babies.

Brussels, Morris and Grey have
been awarded one of the two
official booths at the '78 Plowing
Match. Jim Armstrong is hosting
the '78 Match at his farm east of
Whigh am
An official tent, or booth,
serves as a meeting place, coffee
shop and dining room for Match
Officials and • their guests.
Besides serving as a
headquarters the Official Booth
will provide full course meals to
the public as well as snack bar
facilities.
Between 80 and 90 pupils in
grades four to eight took part in a
drive to sell stationery and gift
products at East Wawanosh
Public School this year. They sold
over $3,300 worth of the products
and the money they raised $7 -
800 after expenses, will be used
to buy school uniforms.
Recently awards • were
presented to the top salespersons
at the school. Grade six students
Johanna Van Cahip, and Jennie
Hopper, working as a team,
topped everyone with sales of
$232.56, thus winning the $8. first
prize.
Dianne Nethery, a grade seven
student, won the $3 second prize
with sales of $216.34 while the
team of grade seven student
Joanna Wood and her brother,
Doug, from grade four shared the
$2 third prize for sales of $197.00.
Class•awards for one dollar
each went to Lisa Hamilton ,
grade eight, with sales of
$145.71; Johanna Van Camp,
grades six and seven, sold
$232.56. Dianne Campbell grades
five and six sold $104.86; and
Jennier Kikkert, grades four and
five sold $111.99.
Officials said the '78 Plowing
Match would offer an opportunity
for the area to show what
community spirit there is hosting
the Official Booth in the name of
the new Brussels, Morris and
Grey Community Centre.
Wh ile arrangements for the
booth were completed by a
committee including Allan and
Carol Campbell, Audry and Jack
Cardiff and Katherine and Joe
Semple, those participating will
include representataives of m ost
area organizations as well as
Belgrave on Sunday afternoon,
when the , Rev. Kenneth. Innes
baptized Jennifer Katherine,
infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Glyn Wide of Mount. Hope.
Fred Cook is a' patient in the
Wingham District Hospital.
Mr. and. Mrs. Glyn Wide,
Kimberly and Jennifer of Mount
Hope, Ray Nicholson of Toronto
spent the weekend with their

expect to realize $8 to $10,000.
