The Grand Opening of the
beautiful new Brussels Morris
and Grey Community Centre in
Brussels will take place this
Saturday, November 26. It is an,
affair to look forward to and will
long be remembered. There will
be something for those of all ages
to enjoy. These include a beef
barbeque and dance; a dance for
the teenagers, and free public
skating. Perhaps the most
important event of the day will be
the dedication of the Memorial
Plaque. Many residents of
Brussels, Morris and Grey will
not want to miss, at least some, of
the events taking place at the
opening of their new Community
Centre.

In response to our asking if any
of our readers remembered The
Guy Lombardo Orchestra playing
here in years gone by, Herb'
Stretton dropped in to tell us that,
although he was too young to go
to dances at the time, he recalled
such an occasion. He said it was
after the First World War,
sometime in the '20's, that a
group of Brussels young men
sponsOred a dance in the old
Town Hall with. Guy Lombardo's
Band providing 4`the sweetest
music this side of Heaven'.'': Mr.
Stretton said that he remerribered
that the young fellows that
organized the dance were the late
"Bid Bell", Alex Sparlitig, Stuart.
