There is'little maintenance that can be carried out on these units. It's basically a refrigerating machine which takes heat from a low-temper- ature source (outside air) and delivers it inside the house at a higher temperature. For one kilowatt of power consumed, the system can produce the equiva-' lent of about 'three kilowatts of heat in' the house. it could be three times .more efficient than electric— resistance heating. Heat pumps are now being evaluated for the Canadian winter, and with some modifica- tions may come into wide use. The initial cost is high, but they may prove to be very useful and economical heat sources. Summer bonus: Another advantage of the heat pump is the fact that it's a cooling system in summer. Once the thermostat has been set, the pump will auto- matically heat or control• the house to keep that temperature. 1 9 7 7 Plymouth Volaire 4 door, with low mileage 1976 Olds 2 door h.t. 1975 Dodge MOnaco 4 door sedan.
