Recent visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Conley were Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Schultz of Watson,
Sask, and Mrs. Bob Rogers from
Prince Albert, Sask. Mr. and
Mrs. Doug Hemingway, Brussels
were at the Conley's visiting the
friends from Sask.
This community was shocked to
hear of the sudden death on
Monday morning of Mrs. Karl
Kokesch, the former Pearl Baker.
Sympathy is extended to her
mother and brother and other
relatives.
Among those attending the
funeral from a distance were Mrs.
Emma McCallum, St. Thomas,
Mrs. Verna Myers and daughter
Joyce of Windsor, and Frank
Hunter, Oshawa. t'
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Henry and
daughter Jana, Goderich visited
Mrs. Stuart McNair on the
weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Clark and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Doug
Rathwell and family, and Mr. and
Mrs. Doug Conley and Shawn all
celebrated an early Thanksgiving
on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the home of
their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Conley.

Crawfords honoured
on 50th anniversary
thanked everyone for the gifts
and the lovely party.. "For they
are jolly good fellows" was then
sung.
A smorgasbord style lunch was
served.
Relatives were present from
Brussels, Wingham, London,
Listowel, Wiarton and
Collingwood.

A surprise part was held on
Friday evening, Sept. 30 when
seventy five friends and relatives
met in the Oddfellows Hall to
honour Rae and Marguerite
Crawford on the occasion of their
fiftieth wedding anniversary.
On their arrival at the hall, they
and the sister of the bride, Anne
Thynne were presented with
corsages by Florence Webb.
The hall was decorated with
floral arrangements, candles and
an anniversary cake. The guest
book was attended by Ross Nichol
During the evening euchre was
played. High prizes were won by
Annie James and Fred Thuell.
The low scorers were Leona
Connelly and Rae Crawford.
The couple were called to the
platform and an address was read
by Barb McCutcheon. Jim
McTaggart presented them with a
terrarium on behalf of the
Oddfellows. Dorothy Ritchie gave
them a cup and saucer from the
Rebekahs. Other gifts included
a wall mirror, spoons, tea pot,
cream and sugar and a gift of
money.
