An enjoyable occasion was held
in the Cranbrook Community
Centre on Sunday afternoon when
about 150 guests attended the
"Open House" in honour of the
40th wedding anniversary of Mr.
and Mrs. Clare. Veitch. Guests
were present from Florida,
Simcoe, Toronto, London,
Chatham, Cambridge, St. Jacobs,
Ayr, Atwood, Brussels and area,
Their daughter, Marie, Mrs.
Patrick Adams, of Manotick was
home for the occasion.
The Sunday School will reopen
following the morning service at
approximately 10:45 a.m. at
Cran brook Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Edward Giessler
A former Cranbrook resident,
Mrs. Edward Giessler died at
Warren, Mich on August 24 at the
age of 71. Mrs. Giessler was a
daughter of the late Paul and
Mrs. Jeschke, and Was born in
Germany. She 'Went to the United
States from Cranbrook in 1928
and was married in Detroit in
1936. Since 1944 they resided ip
Fraser Mich. She is survived by
her . husband, Edward, one
daughter, Mrs. Betty Hirzel, a
grandaugliter Holly and one
sister ; Magda of Toronto.

Cindy Marlene Martin,
daughter of William T: Martin of
St. Marys and Richard Scott
McBurney, son of Mr. Alan
McBurney of R.R. 5, Wingham
were married August 20 at St:
Mary's United Church. Rev.
William J. Moore officiated. Maid
of Honour was Kelly Reis of
Stratford. Bridesmaids were Mrs.,
Doreen Martin and Mrs. Nellie
Martin. Groomsman was Danny
McBurney of Wingham. Ushers
were John Scott of Belgrave and
Ken Bell of Stratford. Organist
was Anita Rutliie. Following the
ceremony, a reception was held at
the Army, Navy and Air Force
Hall in St. Marys. The couple left
fora trip to Niagara Falls. They
will be residing in Stratford.
BLACK—MOORE
Barbara Ann Moore, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moore of
R.R. 1, Wingham, and Keith
Black, son of Mr. and Mrs.
William Black, of Belgrave, were
married August 20 in Knox
United Church, Belgrave, Rev.
Stanley McDonald officiated.

the Blyth Community Centre. The
couple left for a trip to Niagara
Falls. They will be residing at
R.R. 1, Belgrave,

The first meeting of the
Cranbrook 4-H club was held at
Rosemary Terpstra's on Sept. 2.
All members answered the roll
call.
Members discussed the recipe
file and members' pamphlet. Iii
meeting continued as menibq
split into three groups and stand
cooking. The results were quite
good • as the girls tested the two
recipes "Grape Sparkle" ad
"Apricot Balls."
