Games began at 8 a.m. Zurich defeated Lieury 5 to 3 in the first round; Exeter scored 1 to Clinton's 0; Brussels 2 to South Zorra's 0; and Elmira defeated Goderich 2 to 0. The fifth game, the first consolation semi-final, saw Lieury ake' Clinton 8 to 1 . In the sixth game, the first championship semi-final, Exeter defeated Zurich 11 to 6. In the seventh ganie, the second consolation :semi-final, South Zorra won over Goderich 8 to 6. The eighth game, the second: championship semi- final, saw Brussels win 4 to 3 over The consolation final, between ,South Zorra and Liery, was a tight l';11.57, fourteen seconds behind ,contest, with no score for either the winners, Ed' Tait and Don Craig of Bothwell. Linda Sinith of RR 3, Brussels and Sharon Crpthers of London finished third for a bronze medal in women's advanced amateur. On Sunday Linda Smith and A well-knit hard-fighting team from Brussels carried off the 1977 championship at the fastball• tournament in Zurich last Saturday.
