most of the residents of Brussels
senior citizens Complex will tell
that freedom is one of the main
features.

HAL'LOWE'EN IN AUGUST — Brussels kids who
are enrolled in the summer recreation program at the
Lions Park had an extra Hallowe'en this year on.
Monday when they dressed upa,nd played games
like this bobbing for apples. In -charge were leaders
Pat McDonald, Brenda McCutcheon and Maxine
Valls, Blaine Marks and Blair Davidson were among
,the bobbers and a crowd gathered while other kids -I t.

the senior citizens went on a
30,000 island cruise from_Parry
Sound. The*trip, sponsored by the
Women's Institute, lasted. from
8:30 to 10:30 p.m. a full 'day by
anyone's standards.
Some of the residents found the
trip tiring; but Mrs. Winn took it
in• her stfide.
"I am still enjoying life and I
think it is a wonderful place to
be,- she says.

Knight, spends much of his time'
with crafts when, Jae is at his
apartment. One \,of the first
residents of the building, he has a
prize Collection of hooked rugs
and mats. His latest innovation is
a woven mat made out of plastic

"There is no trouble keeping
busy. Sometimes 1 get lazy, but
there is no trou ble keeping
busy,' he says.
Leaving a home behitid :an be
a difficult adjustment.
"It was quite a wrench to give
up my home, but it was much too
large for a man living alone," Mr.
Knight says. "I like to think I'm
adjustable, though".
Mrs. Winn says the apartments
still offer-privacy:
"I like being alone and so close
to others at the same time. They
are all -so friendly. We are all
senior citizens and we have a lot
in common." she says.
