meets October 15, has invited
submissions and suggestions on

and a half. Reeve Krauter
indicated that the' problem had
been stopped in the last month,
and assured 'Mr. Pennington that

According to a recent release
from unknown sources, BBA
president Ken Webster has been
chosen to act as bat boy when the
BBA slowpitch team sees action
on the weekend of August 19. The
report said Mr. Webster was
assigned the job • because lie
doesn't know which end of the bat
is' used to hit the ball.

of the total remuneration paid to a

Business Association presented
council , with two suggestions
recently placed in RBA boxes in
the village. One asked , that a
crosswalk be built for senior
citizens and the second asked that
the Brussels Bell be run three
times daily. Council decided to
look into the possibility of
carrying out both suggestions.
A grant of $2,154 was received
from the Ministry. of Culture and
Recreation. The money will be
turned over to the village
recreation committee,
Councillor Malcolm Jacobs told
council the Maitland Valley
Conservation authority has
indicated that it will not be able to
carry out the requested cleanup of
the clan-1°n the Maitland River in
the village. .
Clerk Bill King told' council the
village had received a $29,000
grant for distribution under .the
Ontario Home, Renewal Program.
Council approved the purchase
of six new cushions from
Turnberry Upholstery at a total
cost of 5115.60.,
Building permits were
approved for . Jim. Johnson, CIL
Warehouse; Spence Scott, canopy
over front door; Mrs. Alexander,
Ken,

McCutchcon, sun deck; John
