Ken Webster of the Brussels'. Business Association presented council , with two suggestions recently placed in RBA boxes in the village. One asked , that a crosswalk be built for senior citizens and the second asked that the Brussels Bell be run three times daily. Council decided to look into the possibility of carrying out both suggestions. A grant of $2,154 was received from the Ministry. of Culture and Recreation. The money will be turned over to the village recreation committee, Councillor Malcolm Jacobs told council the Maitland Valley Conservation authority has indicated that it will not be able to carry out the requested cleanup of the clan-1°n the Maitland River in the village. . Clerk Bill King told' council the village had received a $29,000 grant for distribution under .the Ontario Home, Renewal Program. Council approved the purchase of six new cushions from Turnberry Upholstery at a total cost of 5115.60., Building permits were approved for . Jim.
