Students preserve
100.1 history ..
Minute books ' and old school
records from all the local schools
that were brought under a county
wide school system a few years
ago could be very important to
future students of history, or to
Huron County natives who need
to prove their age with the old \
records.
That's part of the reason that a
group of students is working for
the Huron County Board of
Education this summer,
cataloguing records that are
already at the bord office in
Clinton and seeking additional
minute books and cash, books
from the former public school
-boards all over the county.
Project co-ordiantor Darlene
Carnochan of Seaforth says the
students are very appreciative of
the over 2000 pieces of
information that they are
organizing-994V and would be glad
to rec01171-any additional material
that's still in private hands. Once
the records and minute books are
catalogued at the board office, the
historical information will be
available to the public.
Anyone who knows where old
public school boards records are
located is asked to calf the board
office at 482-3496 or Jim Coultr'r
at 524-7877.
