The weekend of July 29 to
August 1, the focus of Blyth's
centennial celebrations, will not
see the theatre unrepresented.
The Festival is planning several
performances over the weekend,
including a play written especially
for the centennial, an open house
and a fund-raising radio-a-thon.
The radio-a-thon, a first for the
theatre, has been organized in an
attempt to cover this season's
deficit and to gather funds for
capital expenditures, such as
air-conditioning for the theatre.
Jim Swann of CKNX Radio will
host the event throughout the day
on Saturday, July 30th. Arrange-
ments arc not finalizerd, 'but it is
hoped that entertainment,
displays and special guests will
highlight the day's activities.
