The leader, Mrs. Stanley Fischer used the theme "Dominion or Nation" and the hymn ':From Ocean, unto Ocean" was sung, followed by prayer. Mrs. Fischer read a poem, 'If I Could plucka rose". The scripture reading from II Samual ch. 7: 17-29 was read in unison with a meditation by the leader. Mrs. Gordon Engel chose fOr her topic review of the book "Joni" which is the story of a young girl who became paralyzed from an accident. She had no use *of her arms and legs and while frustrated and despondent at times learned to accept her handicap and live an interesting life, as a Christian young woman. Her life was an inspiration to others and this book is recommended for good reading material, although quite sad in parts. During the business period, Mrs. McNair acted as secretary. Correspondence regarding the study for 1977-78 was read and discussed. The Presbyterial visitor, Mrs. Strang plans to be at the November meeting. Mrs. Ross, Thomson will be hostess for September..: There will be no meeting in )Augus't as in former years. It was decided to order copies of the the weekend.
