In addition to its seven week season.of plays, the Festival is offeririg film buffs a Sunday evening film series and art-lovers a summer-long art exhibition. The. Grapes of Wrath, John Ford's film of Steinbeck's story of the Depression years will be shown in the basement of Blyth Memorial Hall on July 24. The Drylanders and The Clinton special will be shown on a double bill on August 7. The. Drylenders concerns a family homesteading in the Canadian prairie, and The Clinton Special shows Theatre Passe Muraille in rehearsal and preparation for the collective creation they developed in this area, The Farm Show. The art exhibition began during the summer of 1976 and was instituted by the members of a growing artistic community in Huron County, including Guenther Heim, Bev Katzin, Jo Firemen Bar43-Q Brussels volunteer firemen held their annual Bar-B-Q at John Pennington's and Doc Stephen- son when a delicious pork chop dinner was enjoyed. Races and games followed. Becker, these artists have gathered a collection that includes etchings, lithographs, seriographs, oils, pottery and sculpture. The exhibition will be on display in the basement of the Blyth Memorial Hall from July 1 to August 20. The film festival and art exhibition reflect the Blyth - Summer Festival's desire to offer a wide-ranging arts festival to Its patrons while at the same time maintaining its regional flavour, It is hoped that, in years to come, the Festival may serve as a forum for all those involved in the arts in the region, ******************** Entertainment at THE QUEEN'S HOTEL \ BRUSSELS Friday and Saturday Night C i * * :Clarence Petrie * . Name camp directors Wendy Cruikshank will direct four of the United Churches' summer camps at Camp Menesetung this year and Mrs. Lloy Grose will direct The Parents Without Partners' at the sakne campsite the board of directors announced this week. Wendy Cruickshank lives in Lambeth and has completed her BA degree and Teacher's Training at the University of Western Ontario. She has had a great deal of church camping ' experience as a camper, counsellor, and senior staff member at Ontario Pioneer Camp. Experienced as a swimming and skating instructor, she has attended Ontario Camp Leadership Centre at Bark Lake. Lloy grose comes to Camp Menesetung from Fullerton with a wealth of experience and training in camp leadership. A former Secondary School Teacher, she is presently a 'aomemaker with 4 children.. She directed Parents Without Partners Camp last year and is active in the United Church in Fullerton in the U.C.W. and C.G.I.T. groups. Other senior staff hired are: Kevin Hulley of Londesboro and Jane Ribey of Seaforth as Sports Directors, Lorna Eggert of Egmondville as Craft Director, Trish Wardrop of Brampton as Swim Director and Irene Shelton of Ingersoll asNature Director. Bible Resource Leadership at the various camps will be shared by June Eggert of Egmondville, Rev. ,Shan McDonald of Londesboro, Rev. John Oestreicher of Clinton and Rev. Mike Boulger of Mon kton Camps this year will fall on the following dates:
