Miss Debbie Gordon of Toronto spent the weekend with Marie Walker and Dayle Fischer. A surprise party was held Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alex MacTavish to honour them on their 30th wedding anniversary. Those present were Mr. and: Mrs. Bob MacTavish, Timmy and '• Kenneth, Mr. and, 'Mrs, Jim Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Gray, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Henning; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Walker, Doug, Steve and Beverly, Mr. and Mr.s Gordon Wright and Shari, Kevin and Sheila. Walker. They were presented with two wall hangings, folloWed by a picnic supper, served by the. families. . . The match will take place on Saturday, September 17 on the Stephen Township farm of Allan Walper, near Grand Bend. The coaching and junior match will be held two days earlier on Thursday, September 15. While the Association was formed in 1924 no matches were held during the war year 1942 - 43.44 according to R. T. Bolton , the Association secretary- ; treasurer. Plana for the 50th Match were advanced at a meeting in Winthrop on June 28. A special attraction this yea; will include a solar heat system Which heats the Walper home. Other attractions include horse ghee pitching with two classes; ladies and niths hail driving contests Arid a log Sawing contest with two classes.
