They will be residing in Kitchener. A HUGE CROWD watched the Brussels Optimist sanctioned tractor pull on Sunday at the Brussels Fair Grounds. Folks got their money's worth of noise, dust, and tractor pull excitement. (Staff Photo) Correspondent Mrs. Mac Engel Mrs. Stanley Fischer was hostess for the June meeting of the W.M.S. when 14 members and 4 visitors attended. The president, 'Mrs.! Gordon Engel opened the meeting with a poem and conducted the business. Mrs. Stuart Stevenson acted as secretary. It is expected that /the Presbyterial visitor, Mrs. Strang, will be at the November meeting. The date and time is to be set later. Correspondence on "Human Rights", Day of Prayer, etc. was read. The group agreed to cater for a banquet, probably in November. Mrs.Stewart Steiss was in charge of the devotions and read a poem. The hymn 'Christ for the World we sing" was sung and scripture readings from Psalm 63 and Titus, ch. 2 were read in unison., Mrs. Steiss gave meditations on these using the theme "People with a Purpose", followed by a prayer. Mrs. Leslie Knight introduced three guests who are employees of the Brussels Nursing HOme, Mrs. Margaret Krauter, Mrs. Grace Jutzi, and Mrs. Ruth Hinton. These ladies led in a thought provoking and enlightening discussion of their work and what we as a group or individuals can do to be of service to the 34 residents at the Home. Roll call was each member presenting a suitable card or cards to be given to the residents. Members reported a total of eleven cards arid thirty-two visits during the past month. The meeting closed with the hymn "Little Drops of Water." and the Mizpah Benediction in unison. Lunch was provided by Mrs. Mac Engel and the hostess and Mrs. Earl Dunn and Mrs. Stuart Stevenson assisted in serving. . School on Uturday. June 11. Ten clubs attended with the morning session beginning at 10 o'clock. In the afternoon Mary Bremner of Ethel was presented with advanced honors and provincial honors went to Sharon Engle, Cranbrook, Jane Schade and Joyce McCallum, both' of Walton. County honors went to Darlene Dobson, Ethel, Nanci Bennet and Nancy Schade, Walton, Bernice van Donkersgoed, R. R.3, Brussels and Liz Reinik of Walton. Home Economist Loralee Marshall presented the county honors. The girls modelled the garments they had made, pyjamas, , nightgowns, housecoats, etc. Miss Karen Chisholm, the Home Economist for Waterloo County commented on the skits and exhibits. Local leaders were Nancy Vanass and Rosemary Terp st ra. Mrs. Tom Baker attended the workshop for PRO and secretaries for W.I. of Bruce and Huron East held in Whitechurch on Monday, June 13. , Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hinchley, Owen Sound, ' Mrs. Jean Broadfoot, Walton, Mr. and Mr. Jim Keys, R.R.1, Seaforth and Mrs. Claire Long, Brussels, were recent visitors with Mrs. mac Engel. Mrs. Stuart McNair, and Mrs. Dorothy Dilworth attended a Board Retirement Party on Thursday evening in Holmesville. Will Perrie Jr. of Boston, visited with his parents Mr. and Mrs John A . Perrie. A miscellaneous shower was held in the Community Centre on Monday evening, June 13 for Lorrie Smith, whose marriage took pace on44'.iday evening, June 17.. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper was celebrated in Knox 'Church on Sunday morning June 19. Five new members were received into membership of the church, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stevenson, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Morrison, and John M. Perrie. Mrs. Stuart 'McNair spent the weekend in Mt. Forest with her sister-in-law Mrs. Orlie Shaw. Doug Conley has sold his farm lot 20, con. 14 to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ezewskie of Smithville possession to be taken June 20, and has purchased his father's farm lot 18 and W 1/2 19, Con. 14. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conley have moved into the house in Cranbrook which they purchased from John Vanass. The Cranbrook . W.I. entertained guestsirom Brussels, Ethel and Moncrief at their June meeting held in the Community Centre. Mr. Ed. Van Guest from the Listowel florists was present- and gave a very entertaining and isntructive demonstration on flower arranging and many useful hints, answering questions from the audience. Visitng Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dunn on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Allan Dunn and Bonnie, Bloomingdale, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Muchan and Mr. Muchan, Keith and Bruce of London. Mrs. .Wm.
