One hundred and twenty
Ontario bankers will be back in
the classroom June 2Q to 24 for an
in-depth course in agriculture at
the Ontario. Agricultural College
(OAC), University of Guelph.
Although the course won't turn
bankers into farmers, it is hoped
bankers will finish the course with
a better understanding of farm
operations from a human,
business and physical standpoint.
The 23rd annual Ontario
Agricultural College Bankers'
School is sponsored jointly by
OAC, the Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture and Food and the
Canadian Bankers' Association
Agricultural Education
Subcommittee.
The school, which is unique in
Canada, is designed for bank
personnel witli managerial.
responsibilities. Delegates are
selected by chartered banks-'and
the Federal Business Develop-
ment Bank.
During the five-day school
bankers will participate in
educational experiences including
discussion groups, farm visits and
formal lecture sessions.
The educational program,
developed cooperatively by bank,
government and OAC personnel,
will cover such topics as crop
production, livestock, farm build-
ings, farm machinery and market-
ing. It will also deal with credit
needs, supply. services, account-
ing and management of farms.
The majority of the educational
part of the program is financed by
the Ontario Ministry of Agricul- •
tune and Food through a contract
with the University of 'Guelph.
