Bluevale WMS topic 'Rocks'

The Associate Members
meeting of the Bluevale
Presbyterian W.M.S. was held at
the home of Mrs. Ketih Moffatt
on June 7. And where were the
Associate Members? Eleven of
the same faithful regulars
attended this gathering when
Mrs. Robt. Campbell of Wingham
was the guest speaker.
The President Mrs. Glenn
Golley was in the chair and used
as her call to worship, a poem
entitled "The Best Things are
Free," followed by a hymn. The
hostess conducted the devotions
based on Psalm 126: 5 ,6,noting
that some seeds we all need to
plant each day are those of
friendship, love, study, work
compssion, and good health
habits if we would live to be
God's faithful servants. Prayer,
followed by Mrs. Wm. Robertson.
The guest speaker was
introduced by Mrs. K. Moffatt.
She chos,e as her topic Rocks and
used various scriptural references
from the Psalms throughout the
discourse. She stated that rocks
are used in building foundations.
They are strotng and solid
standing the test of time as Jesus
has. He is sure and solid and
should be the foundation or
corner stone of our faith, a source'
of strength who can give us peace
and joy.
Refreshments were served by
Mrs. Wm. Robertson and the
hostess.
Rev, Dennis Freeman of
Campbellford was the guest
speaker at the one hundred and
twentieth anniversary of Knox
Presbyterian Church, Bluevale)
June 12, Rev. Freeman's sermon
was, "The First Step". The choir
sang two anthems "Whosoever
Will" and "He". A trio, Sherry
Robertson, Kathy Snell and
Melody Brewer sang,
"Kindness . Miss Maryanne
Nicholson and Mts. Glenn Snell
shared the' duties of organist.
Sunday dinner guests ,of Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Walker and family
were Mr. and Mrs. Larry
Reverend and Mrs. Dennis
Freeman and Barbara, Mr.
Freeman's mother and friend
were weekend guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Ross Gray. Mr. Tom Inglis.
was a dinner guest at the Gray
home on Sunday.
