A number of suggestions from
the suggestion boxes placed in
BBA member stores were
discussed at the meeting. Mr.
Webster said the Association has
received 14 suggestions in the
past two monhts, and that of
those 14, five have been serious
and worthy of careful consider-
ation by the BBA.
A suggestion that a drugstore
is needed in the village has
prompted the BBA to send letters
to pharmacists asking if one of
them would be interested in
locating in the village. A similar
suggestion about an implement
dealer for the area hasalso been
acted upon ) Mr. Webster said. It
has also been suggested that the
BBA encourage another bank to
/locate in the villate, he said, and
the BBA is making enquiries on
the matter.
Mr. Webster said the BBA is
also hoping to organize a rodeo
this year, said the Association
has approached the Maitland
Valley Saddle Club with the
proposal.
Mr. Webster said the BBA
hopes a rodeo can be organized using local talent. "There's a lot
more enthusiasm with a plow
horse from the farm and a local
guy getting on it Than for a
professional rodeo, he said.
in other business at the
meeting, it was announced that
the Fire Marshall and safety
inspector will be called to
inspect the old Export Packers
building on Main Street. Mr.
Webster said the structure has
already been condemned by the Board of Health. The BBA hopes to get the building sealed up or
removed to end the hazard for
chldren who h ave been playing in the building.
