I guess it was Spring Fever hi
full stride that had a total of 17
enthusiastic ladies gathering at
the home of Mrs. Wm. Mundell
for the May meeting of the
Bluevale Presbyterian Church,
W.M.S.
Mrs. Glenn Golley presided,
Scripture reading of Psalm 109 by
Mrs. Joe Walker was
complemented with prayer and an
explanation of God's Love and
assurance that His Love never
changes, by Mrs. Alex
MacTavish.
Members received a thank you
note from Miss Mary Mae
Swaratzentruber, an invitation
from Bluevale U.C.W. to attend
their meeting on June 5 at 8:30
p,m, when Rev. Wesley Ball of
Gorrie will present 'Slides and
travelogue on the Holy Land. The
next gathering will be for the
Associate Members at the home
of Mrs. Keith Moffatt. Try asking
someone to take you in an effort
to double the attendance,
members were asked.
An interesting topic on the life
of Ruth was capably presented by
Mrs. Wm. Elston, showing 'how •
Ruth and Naomi struggled
together through the hardships of
famine, feud, the death of their
husbands, and shifting for
themselves on their return to
Bethlehem.
She talked about the kindness
they received from, the wealthy
Boaz, and the development of his
love for Ruth, the birth of their
son Obed, who became the father
of Jesse and the grandfather of
King David. The study of her life
teaches that patience and love are
commendable virtues, disasters
and calamities if met squarely,
';and with God's help, are
conquered, and often turn out to
be blessings in disguise, she said.
The group presented a blanket
to Mrs. Wayne Baswick with their
regrets at her departure and best
wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Baswiek,
Darryl and Paul as they go to their
new home - and work in
Mississauga.
