Mundell for the May meeting of the Bluevale Presbyterian Church, W.M.S. Mrs. Glenn Golley presided, Scripture reading of Psalm 109 by Mrs. Joe Walker was complemented with prayer and an explanation of God's Love and assurance that His Love never changes, by Mrs. Alex MacTavish. Members received a thank you note from Miss Mary Mae Swaratzentruber, an invitation from Bluevale U.C.W. to attend their meeting on June 5 at 8:30 p,m, when Rev. Wesley Ball of Gorrie will present 'Slides and travelogue on the Holy Land. The next gathering will be for the Associate Members at the home of Mrs. Keith Moffatt. Try asking someone to take you in an effort to double the attendance, members were asked. An interesting topic on the life of Ruth was capably presented by Mrs. Wm. Elston, showing 'how • Ruth and Naomi struggled together through the hardships of famine, feud, the death of their husbands, and shifting for themselves on their return to Bethlehem. She talked about the kindness they received from, the wealthy Boaz, and the development of his love for Ruth, the birth of their son Obed, who became the father of Jesse and the grandfather of King David. The study of her life teaches that patience and love are commendable virtues, disasters and calamities if met squarely, ';and with God's help, are conquered, and often turn out to be blessings in disguise, she said. The group presented a blanket to Mrs. Wayne Baswick with their regrets at her departure and best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Baswiek, Darryl and Paul as they go to their new home - and work in Mississauga. Discussion followed about Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Henning, Mr. and Mrs. George Fischer. Others attending from Bluevale were Murray Timm, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Timm and Rick and Mr. and Mrs. Hans Verbeek. Mother's Day visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Walker and family were Linda Harkness, Dayle Fischer, Mrs. 'Lloyd Henning, Mr. Irvine McCabe of Windsor quilting to be dope and cold meat su pper to he served in the church on May 25. Lunch was served by the hostess. April is Cancer month, with $750.90 being given in the Bluevale area. The Women's Institute would like to express their appreciation to the collectors and the contributors.
