of resignation.
Council did not decide
Monday night whether ,or not an
election will be necessary to fill
the two newly vacant seats. Clerk
King was back on the job Tuesday
morning but had no comment
except "it's good to be back".
In other council business,
after the re'instatement, but
before the councillors resigned,
council agreed to pay $708,50 for
tree trimming in the village and to
have the municipal = copier
repaired for $68.
Estimates on the co .st of the
south west drain from Burns Ross
were received :at $14,000 to the
corner of Mary and. Thomas Sts.,
$27,800 from the. Catholic Church
easement to Flora St. and $37,700
to the corner of Flora and
Alexander. The amounts are not
to be added together but are
inclusive.

introduced and welcomed the
guest speakers, Rev. and Mrs.
Michael Boulger ,of Monktdn, .at
the May meeting of the Belgrave
United Church Women.
Mr. Bougler gave an outline of
his work since he was ordained
fifteen years ago, and showed
interesting slides of the Indian
Community at Behrens River in
Northern Manitoba where he and
his wife had worked for four
years. Mrs. `William Co ultes
thanked Mr. and Mrs. Boulger for
coming and giving an insight into
their work among the Indians in
Northern Manitoba.
Members were asked to leave
their articles for the bale, which is
being sent to London, with Miss
Annie Cook, by June 1st.
Members were to remember that
the "Country Fayre" will be held
on June 25th.

to check easements for the
village's new storm sewers.
Reeve Krauter will attend a
meeting at the Board of
Education office ,. in Clinton
tonight when the board will try to
explain their increased levies to
municipal councils in Huron.
Councillor Jacobs questioned
whether the village could legally
charge an impost fee for anything
but storm and sanitary sewers
and water mains. Councillor
