To the editor Continued
I have stood up to be cdunted against the unfairness of firing, I
don't think any other word applies an honest , experienced clerk
for Brussels.
l hope there will be a ground swell .of angry people who
demand that this order will be recinded.
I have always felt sympathy for public servants having been- in
the ranks myself but there is a point past which it is dangerous to
go.
We the public, pay the piper so isn't it only right that we call
the tune Glenna Stprgiens

Correction
'The proportion that Brussels
village council and Brussels PUC
pay towards the salary of the
clerk-treasurer and PLIC manager
was reversed• in a story in the
Brussels. Post last week.
The PUC has traditionally paid
60 per cent •of the salary, while
the village has paid 40 per cent,
not the other way around as the
Post story of last week reported.
The Post apologies for the error.
Mrs, Mary Thomas is now a
licensed private pilot. She
received her license following her
test last Wednesday, after a year
and a half of flight training and
six months of ground school.Her
ground school, instructer was Jim
Armstrong of Brussels who'held
classes in Brussels Public School.
The family might now be called
'the Flying Thomases. They have
four licensed pilots, Mary,
husband Charles, son David and
daughter Dianne who all received
their license earlier.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas flew to
Manitoulin Island for the
weeketid, when Mary acted
officially as co-pilot, logging her
first twin engine flying time.
Charlie had considerable flying
time ahead of the rest of the
family. He served with the
R.C.A.F. He is now owner of
Nu-Teck Farms, Brussels.
Mary is active in community
affaris, Dave is married and lives
in Guelph, daughter Dianne is a
student at L,akehead University,
Thunder Bay,
Another son, Bob, also
married, lives on the home farm
and is manager of Nu-Teck Farms
and has not as yet taken to the
