The W.L card parties finished
for the season with a Dessert
Euchre on Tuesday, April 26
when Mrs. Bill. Humphries
extended a warm welcome to
everyone. The 20 tables were
The Women's Guild of Melville
Presbyterian Church met, in the
church parlour for their regular
meeting.
The opening thought was read
by Margaret Work, followed by
the singing of the hymn, "We
plough the fields and scatter the
good seeds on the land."
The Scripture reading was the
"Parable of the Sower". Isobel
Gibson led in prayer. The hymn,
"Take my life and let it be" was
sung.
Margaret Work gave. a timely
reading on "Controlling our
Thoughts".
The topic , - tracing the acts of
Jesus after Easter, was well
presented by Isobel Gibson. The
hymn, - "The day Thou gavesti
Lord , is ended". brought this'
part of the meeting to a close.
Marguerite Krauter, the vice
president presided for the
business period in the absence of
Marg. McCutcheon, the;
president. Ethel Brewer read the
minutes of the. March meeting asi
the secretary Isobel Adams was
absent.
Rose Marie Bishop gave the,
treasurer's report. There was!
some discussion about thel ,
amount of food for the
smorgasbord supper which is to
be May 25th. It was moved to
table the letter 'luncheon is
Served" and to write for price list
for church plates and mugs.

There was a good attendance at
the May meeting of Mission Band
on Sunday in the church
basement. Ron Godkin opened
with the Call to Worship. Marie
McGavin was pianist for singing
of a hymn. Scripture reading was
given by Brian McGavin followed
by Olene Dennis leading in
prayer.
The secretary's report was
given by Cheryl Fraser and
treasurer's report by Cathy
McGavin who received the offer-
ing dedicated by Ron Godkin.
Mite boxes are to be brought to
the next month's meeting. A fun
day will be held at the June
meeting.

with teachers, Dorothy Sholdice,
Doreen Hackwell, Marie
McGavin and Margaret Bennett.

The Quilt Summary Day will be
held in the afternoon of May 25
with the regular Institute meeting
at night at 8:15 p.m. Note the
change of date, due to the bus trip
on the regular date.
