DRA meeting was held, at her home after a delicious pot luck dinner Wednesday of last week. She ,thanked the Members for helping to make the past year a success with excellent reports submitted from all standing committees. Mrs. Charles Mathers installed the officers who also included Vice President, Mrs. Mathers; secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Mel Craig: district director, Mrs. Bill Peacock; alternate, MrS. The summary day for the quilt course will be held in Wingham on May 25. The people of the village would sure appreciate it if all dog owners would keep their dogs tied up, as it is gardening time. There is a congregational meeting being held in the United Church after the service on StuldaY, to complete plans for the Centennial celebrations. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Les Earl of Atwood visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. AndreW Bremner and hods. Mr. and Mrs.Wm. Dobson and George Graff, of Millbank flew to Wiatton oti Sunday attending the Canadian Pilots safety refresher course sponsored by the owners and pilots association'. Mrs. Edwin Krautet is a patient in Listowel Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. L.A.WardlaW of Toronto visited with Mrs. Douglas wardiaw. Mrs. Bert Bray of BrusSela Mrs. Jim Armstrong was re elected president of the Women's Institute when the annual Bob MacTavish, Timothy and Kenneth of Wingham, Mr. and Mrs. Wes Paulin, Bluevale, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dettman, Wroxeter, Mr. and Mrs.Glenn Snell and Murray of R102; Bluevale arrived at the MacTavish home. A social evening was spent and Mr. and Mrs. John K. MacTavish were presented with a gift on, the occasion of their recent marriage. Due to illness Mr. MacTavish's family was unable to attend. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Bray. Mr. B ob Hall and friend of Owen Sound visited with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hall on the weekend. Mr. Herb Jones of Rosseau, Mr. and. Mr.s John Scheerer of Drayton, Mrs. L. Smith of Kurtzville, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Forbes of Elmira were visitors last week with Mr. and Mrs. Scheerer -. ELIZABETH WHO OVER Miss Elizabeth M. (Beth) Hoover, a resident of Maple Villa Senior Citizens Home in Brussels, passed away in the Listowel Memorial Hospital on April 17, 1977 in her 85th year. She was born in East VVawanosh Township at Westfield, daughter of the late Mr.- and Mrs. Robert J. Hoover. In 1902 she moved with her family to the 9th concession of Grey Twp. and has resided in Brussels area ever since. She was a lifelong and faithful 'member of the Brussels United Church and also of the U.C.W.1' a charter member of Morning Star Rebekah Lodge, and a member of the Majestic Women's Institute since 1942. Always very fond of flowers, this was her main hobby in life. She was a director of the Ladies ,Division of the Brussels Fall Fair for over 30'years in charge of the flower section. * She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Grace McCallum of Huronview; and one brother, Norman of Grey TWp. She was predeceased by two brothers, William in 1925 and Harvey in 1976. . - The body tested at the Watts Funeral Home in Brussels till :Tuesday, April 19, where funeral service was held at 2 p.m. with Rev. E.L. LeDrew in charge.. In terment followed in. the Brussels Cemetery. The pallbearers were five nephews, John and Murray Hoover, Harvey McCallttm Ross Gibson and Doh Eadie and a 4 4, neighbour Douglas Hemingway. WILLIAM W. ADAMS William Wilson Adams of R.R.5, Brussels, died in Wingham and District Hospital on Tuesday, April 19th, 1977. He was in his 53rd year. Born in Turnberry Township, Huron County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Adams. Since 1961 he farmed in Morris Township, prior to that he was associated with the J.C.Adams and Son Feed Mill, Brussels. He is survived by his wife the former Viola Bradshaw, one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Nancy) Gowing of Hamilton Ontario and three sons, Andrew, David and Steven, all. at home, and step- mother Mrs. Isobel Adams of Brussels. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother and one sister. Funeral services were h eld Thursday, April 21st from the M.L.Watts Funeral H ome at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Kenneth bites of Melville Prebyterian Church officiated. Interment took place in Brusels Cemetery. Pallbearers were neighbours, Robert • Wheeler, George Wheeler, Richard Kufske, Jack. Cardiff, Graham Work, Lloyd Wheeler. Flowerbearers were nephews, Robert and Murray Bradshaw, Glenn and *nice Campbell: meeting with the Opening Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. Mrs. Peacock read the minutes, financial statement, cOrrespondence and thank you notes. Delegates aenointed to the district annual May 10 at Moncrieff are Mrs. Peacock, Mrs. Mathers and Mrs. Armstrong. Alternates are MrS. Harry Elliott and Mrs. Stamper. The group visited Brookhaven on April 20, displaying their Easter bonnets.' The 80th anniversary of the Women's Institute will be commemorated July 13 at Bingeman Park • Lodge, Kitchener. The 4-H Acheivement Day will be held June 18 at the. F.E.Madill Secondary School. Mrs. Garniss outlined what was said at the meeting of the Huron Perth Steering Committee which took place at the Listowel Public School last month. Members were asked to complete a form asking, "De you wish a District Health Council formed in Huron Perth?" Several ladies in the community will assist in the cancer drive. It was moved by the members that the Bluevale W.T. give a donation to the Brussels I Fair and pay membership in the I Historical Society. The roll call was "Make and model your Easter bonnet." The hats were very colurful and added some fun to the meeting. Mrs. Peacock read the minutes of the last annual meeting, followed by the financial statement, auditors report and reports of the 'standing committees. A meeting will be held at Mrs. Armstrong's home April 25 at 8 p.m. to . plan programs for the coming year. The May meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Peacock on May 11 at 2 p.m. Roll call will be "Name one way in which progress has affected, my life."
