Hall, Clinton with a good turnout including two new members. Harold Beakhust of Bayfield the speaker, discussed Honey Bees and their Queens. Arrangements for his visit were made by A. Galbraith of Clinton. The ladies trom the St. James Church, Middleton, Mrs. Keith Miller and Mrs. Edward Deeves served lunch. The next meeting will be held in the Orange Hall, Clinton, on May 17 when ladies of the U.C.W. Holmesville will serve lunch. The meeting welcomed. W. Brock Olde of Clinton as a represe ntative on the board of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Mr. Olde's work will be to lighten and enlighten the way for those that live in the dark. Board of Directors meeting, Mrs. Herb Mpluske, Chesley, the president, welcomed 32 Board Directors and one Junior W.I. member. A theme to think about in the coming month "Thinking well is wise; Planning well is wiser; Doing well is wisest." Briefing sessions were held in January for the leaders for Officer's Confer- ence. The Stoney Creek W.I. celebrated the 80 Anniversary of founding of W.I. A warm welcome was extended to Miss Molly McGhee, Director of Home Economics Branch, Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Miss McGhee reported an increase in the number participat- ing in the Training Schools, Short Courses, Food Forum etc. 1967-1977, 28,343 took part. 4-H Homemaking club members, 56,875. Mrs. Earl Morden, Rodney, sec. treas. said there are 1,262 branches, a membership of 29,217. Mrs. Austin Zoeller, chairman of the Erland Lee Home Commit- tee reported a day long session was held with Mrs. Dorothy Duncan, Adviser Heritage Administration, April 14 W.I. week will be held at Stoney Creek, June 6-10. Many hundreds of people are expected. Mrs. Victor Beachin is official hostess at the Lee Home. The 80th Anniversary of found- ing of Women's Institute will be celebrated at Bingeman Park, Kitchener, July 13. Mrs. Lyndsay-Hacket-Pain, Sussex, England will be guest speaker. She is Honorary Treasurer and Chairman of Finance committee of the Associated Countrywomen of the World. She will spend three weeks in Ontario.
