Charge two in truck theft
During the week April 11-17,
officers at Wingham Detachment
of the O.P.P. conducted thirty-six
investigations,
Eight charges were laid under
the Highway Traffic Act and
twenty-four warnings were
issued.
Three charges were laid under
the Liquor Licence Act.
Six charges were laid under the
Criminal Code.
On April 13, a tow truck was
stolen from Martin's Garage,
Fordwich, and a car stolen from
Peter. Greenley, Howick
Township. Both were recovered
and Donald Kernaghan, age 19 of
Wingham and James Thompson,
age 22 of Teeswater have been
charged regarding these thefts.
Provincial Constables Ken Baizer
and John Vessey handled the
investigation.
During the week, there were
four motor vehicle accidents
which caused an estimated
$6,600. in property damage and
minor injuries to two persons.
On Friday, April 15, John G.
Leece of Brussels was involved in
a single car .accident on County
road 16, east of County Road 12,

AHOP/HOME (Assisted Home Ownership-Program/
Home.Ownership Made Easy Plan) is a federal-
provincial program designed to bring home
ownership within the reach of moderate and lower
income families by offering financial aid in the form
of lbanS, subsidies and grants. How much aid you
receive depends upon your household formation,
income and the monthly carrying Charges for your
new home.
All types of new houses are eligible for assistance
as long as they are AHOP qualified by Central
Mortgage and Housing Corporation arid are sold
Within the maximum AHOP prices in your
municipality.
Through an AHOP IntereSt Reduction Loan, the
first year's MOrtgage payments 'are' reduced to an 6%
interest rates An AHOP subsidy of up to $750 is
available during the first year of occupancy so you
would not spend Mote than 25% of your household
income on mortgage payments and municipal taxes,.
YOU may also qualify for a Provincial HOME.Grant of
up to $750 ih the firgyeat should your Mortgage
and tax payments still exceed 30% of your
household income. Subsidies and grants are not
repayable. Loan repayments begin in the seventh year
of the mortgage. •

AHOP/HOME Program, look in the real estate
section of your newspaper for participating builders.
