Mrs. J.Van Vleet favoured with two solos. Mrs. C. Hemingway thanked Mrs. Van Vleet and presented a gift. Mr. A. Knight gave the news letter. The prize money for the roses classed t the fall fair was discussed and will be the same as last year. The corn flower seeds were given out. Members had an Irish sing song with Mrs Walter Kerr at the piano. Mrs. A. Crocker took the topic "Care of House Plants" and talked about temperature watering, grooming propogating, etc. Special point slip geraniums in July or August planting by parent plant , bring into house before frost and you will have flowering plants all winter. Mrs. Crocker also mentioned a number of good books that are available. Mrs. C. Hemingway thanked Mrs. Crocker and presented a gift. Mrs. N. McLarty won the door prize, coll. and the Queen closed the meeting. Lunch was served by Mrs. W. Miller, Mrs. B. Hemingway, Miss L. Lucas.. Flurahvjev4 has. Irish program The Clinton Christian Reformed Song Service was held on Sunday evening led by Dick Roorda. Mrs. Elsie H enderson accompanied at the piano for the singing with special numbers by the Roorda Family. The residents of the Bluewater Rest Home of Zurich were guests at the Monday afternoon program and were welcomed by the Administrator, Mr. Chester Archibald. Mrs. Maitland Driver, Molly Cox and Norman Speir provided a half hour of old tyme music for dancing. Mrs. Elsie Henderson played the piano accompaniment for an Irish Program consisting of two - numbers by the twenty piece rythm band. Vocal solos by Cecil Skinner and Nelson Lear; duet and quartette numbers. Molly Cox led a sing-a-long of Irish tunes and tea and cookies were served to one hundred and fifty residents and guests. Mrs. Percy Weston of the Bluewater Home thanked everyone for the pleasant of ternoon. The Goderich Township Women's Institute volunteers and Mr. Ed. Zeale assisted with the activities. Twenty members of the Clinton Old Tyme Dance. Club entertained with several of the older dances on "Family Night". Mrs.Marie Flynn arranged and accompanied the program along with musicians Hugh Hodges, Frank Forrest, Norman Speir, Cecil Skinner, Harold and Gerry Black. The Club members danced the waltz country,broom dance, pati cake polka, barn dance, seven step, French M inuet, heal and toe polka, tag dance and waltzes. The residents enjoyed seeing some of the dances that were popular in their day and appreciated the visit very much. The Ladies Orange Beneveolent Association of Clinton had some lovely apples delivered to the Home last week and they were baked for the supper meal and the rest were put on the trays the next day. • Charles Thomas is opened . a new girls home was now filled to capacity and (C.A.S.T.L.E,) in July and that it president Elsie Westcott was returned to her post for another Goderich offices recently.
