World Day of Prayer service
was held at Duff's United. Church,
Walton, Friday afternoon March
4.
Christian women of, the

to all who belong to the family of
God around the work who united
on March 4.
God has shown us what our
'togetherness" (fellowship)
should be. Jesus Christ has
shown us how our `togetherness'
can be realized, and thrOugh the
power of the Holy Spirit we are
able to translate love into action,
the service said.
Taking part in the World Day of
Prayer service were Mrs.
Campbell Wey, Mrs. Rae
Houston and Mrs. Allan McCall.
The Bible reading was taken from
l John 4:7-21. Mrs. Neil McGavin
was pianist for the hymns.
Rev. Ed Baker spoke on the
them, "love in Action" and was
thanked by Mrs. Walter Bewley.
The offering was received by
Mrs. Ken McDonald, dedicated
by Mrs. Wey concluding with the
repeating of the Lord's Prayer in
unison.
Following the closing hymn,
"Blest be the tie that binds,"

Obituary
MAE SKELTON
At her home on William Street
in Brussels on Sunday, February
27, 1977 Mae Angelina. Skelton
died suddenly.
She was the daughter of Robert
and Lavina Skelton and was born
in Morris Township. After
receiving her early education in
Brussels, she attended normal
school in Stra tford and received
her teacher's diploma there. Her
teaching appointments in Morris
Township, Wiarton, Haileybury
and Longbranch made her many
lasting friends.
She retired to-Brussels 13 years
ago and during this time has
served on the United Church
Board as an elder, as organizer
for the Save The Children fund in
this district, a member of the
Horticultural Society, the
Women's Institute and an active
member of the U.C.W. and
Canadian Bible Society.
She was a kind, sympathetic
Christian lady who will be
missed.
Many remember Miss Skelton
as a leader of the C.G.I.T., and a
Sunday School teacher and her
example of the Christian way of
life has been an inspiration to
many,
She is survived by several
cousins.
Funeral service was held at the
M.L. Watts Funeral Home on
Wednesday at 1:30 o'clock
conducted by her minister Rev.
E.LeDrew. Pallbearers were
