University Hospital, London
where she had been a patient
after being transferred from
Wingham Hospital. It is hoped
she keeps improving and is soon
back to good health.
Mr. Ken Badley of Swift
Current, Sask., flew home to visit
with his parents, Mr.and Mrs.
Lorne Badley.
Miis Jane Leeming, Toronto
and Joh n Leeming of Elliott Lake
_ spent the weekend at their
father's honie. Mr. and Mrs.
David Brady and girls of London
visited Sunday-at the same home,
also visiting with his father, Dr.
Paul Brady who is recovefing
from surgery.
It is good to hear that Martin
Baan has returned home from
University Hospital, London.
Mrs. John Davies of Ottawa
spent a few days last week at the
home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Alvin' McDonald.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kirkby
have returned home from a
vacation in Florida.

Walton 1 4-H club held their
first meeting on Monday evening.
February 28th at the home of
Mrs. Lin Steffler They decided to
call their club "Lacy Ladies" in
the project "Clothes for Leisure,"
Six girls were present. Officers
were elected as follows-President
Nanci Bennett, Vice
President-Mary Alice Ryan;
Secretary-Peggy; Humphries;
Press Reporter-Karen Plaas.

Walton Women's Institute
members entertained the patients
at the Callander Nursing Home,
Brussels, on Tuesday afternoon,
February 22.
Musical numbers were given
by Mrs. Herb Traviss, Mrs. Bill
Humphries and Mrs. Emerson
Mitchell.
Mrs. Neil McGavin led in a sing
song, and accompanied at the
piano when Heather McGavin
sang a solo. Mrs. Mitchell gave a
reading.
Birthday gifts were given to the
four patients who had birthdays
this month of February.
Lunch of cup cakes and tea
were served to all those present
and closed a most enjoyable
afternoon at the home.

World Day
of Prayer
service
The Walton U.C.W. of Duff's
United Church have planned the
World Day of Prayer service with
the theme "Love in Action" to be
held in the church basement at 2

at farm sale
Rev. Ed. Baker of Duff's
United Church suggested some of
the members of the communi-
cant's group have a lunch booth
at the Alex Gulutzen's farm sale
this past Saturday. Ruth Thamer
and Carolyn McClure were the
only two available to look after
preparing and serving food and
coffee, which was purchased by
Rev. Baker,
A sum of money was realized
but it will be decided at their next
meeting. What it will go towards.
Rey, Baker wants to get the
young people involved, doing
things together, in a community
project. He hopes other such
entures will be considered in the
f uture.
The leaders discussed contents
.for this club, "Clothes' for
Leisure" in sleep wear and
lounge vvear. Also told about the
patterns and materials required:
