Hydro off in Cranbrook
ENJOY BBA DINNER DANCE Ray and. Helen
Adams, right, were two of the about 85 Brussels
merchants and employees who attended the Brussels
of Managers will appoint one rep.
Mrs. Mac Engel was
re-appointed secretary-treasurer
and Mrs. Stuart McNair and Mrs.
Stewart Steiss are the organists.
Moving expenses were discupsed
and the Dock Project for camping
at Kintail.
There will be an: announcement
from the pulpit for the next two
Sundays regarding this fund. A
letter of thanks.from Grey Central
School for the use of choir gowns
was read. Rev. Murray closed the
meeting with prayer.
Hydro Off
This area was without hydro for
two hours on Thursday while
necessary work was done on the
line. Telephone service was out
for most of the same day. When
services are as usual we fail to
appreciate how important they
are to us.

Sympathy is extended to Mrs.
John Schnock in the death of her
brother, the late Wm. Grant
whose death occurred in
Wingham Hospital following a
period of ill health. Mrs. Schnock
was admitted to Listowel
Memorial Hospital on Tuesday
and a brother Russel, Toronto, is
ill, with pneumonia. Neither were
able to attend the funeral on
Friday in Brussels.
Annual Meeting
The Annual meeting of Knox
Church was held on Wednesday,
Feb. 9 in the church basement
following a potluck dinner. Rev.
Wallace Murray, Mitchell
interim-moderator, was chairman
and opened the meeting with a
Scriputre reading and prayer.

The Majestic Women's
Institute met in the Public
Library Wednesday, Feb. 9th.
There were a good attendance
and Mrs. B. McCall presided.
The Helen McKercher
Scholarship will be started hi
Sept. 1977. Erland Lee home
opened 6th of June for Women's
Institutes Week. Mrs. Carl
Hemingway and Mrs. Jas. Smith
are making a 'quilt block to send to
the FW10. Plans are underway to
celebrate the 80 ann. of Adelaide
Hoodless star sting of the W.I.
Short courses and food 'forums
were discussed and are to be
decided on in March. It was
agreed to hold a bazaar Nov. 12th
and Mrs.D. Hemingway, Mrs).
Ida Evans are to attend the cancer
meeting at Ross Proctors. Mrs.
McCall asked for a discussion on
whether to use 0 Canada or the
Queen to close the meeting. The
members were asked ' to blink
about it and it will be brought up
at the March meeting.
Members were asked to advise
Mrs Ruby :Steiss of any member
who is ill. Mrs. C. M cCutcheon
took the chair and introduced
Con. Wilson of the Goderich
Attachment OPP who showed two
enlightening films on Caution
and on the use of seat belts. He
told the meeting that it is
estimated that 1/2 the population
of Ontario will be injured in car
accidents at some time in their
lives. Mrs. H. DeBries gave the
motto and Mrs. Jas. Armstrong
led in a sing song: The draw was'
made on an afghan Which Was
won by Donna Gtootzen of
London. Mrs. McCuteheon held a
raffle on a Valentine box of
chocolates which WaS won by
Mrs. Jas. MeTaggart,
Lunch was served by Mrs.D, C.
Matheson, Mrs, E. Shaw, Mts.
H. Steffler and Miss L. Lucas.

groups were adopted as printed.
It' was decidedto have the horse
barn on the manse proptery
removed.
Mrs. Stanley Fischer was
appointed as manager to fill out
the term of Wm. Elliott, who has
moved from the congregation.
Stewart Steiss, John Perie and
Alfred Knight were appointed
for a three year term.
Mrs. Lylle Gordon was
appointed auditor from the
/ congregation. Ushers are Brad
Knight, and ,Stewart Steiss with
Leslie Knight and Jack Conley as
assistants.
Salary committee is John A
Perrie, Clare Veitch and Jack
• Knight. Mrs. Stewart Steiss will
represent the Ladies Aid on the
manse committee and the Board
Morning Star has
Valentine euchre
Morning Star Rebekah Lodge
held their annual desert euchre
on Valentine's Day with eleven
tables in play. The guests were
welcomed by the Noble Grand
Mrs. Dorothea Ritchie.
