ALL TOGETHER FOR ONCE — One of the liabilities
of being president of the Ontario Federation of
Agriculture is being away from home much of the
time. ButThursday night in Toronto the Gordon Hill
family was under one roof again for the Gordon Hill
Appreciation Night at the Royal York. Standing •
beside Gordon, left , are his daughter, Carol, her
husband Francis Hunt of R.R.4, Walton, his son
Bev., of Varna and front right, Bev's wife Shirley,
Gordon's daughter Lynda Smith, Goderich, his wife
Ruby and his mother Kathleen Hill, Bayfield.

The annual meeting of the
Auxiliary to the Wingham &
District Hospital was held in the
R.N.A. Training Centre last
Monday.
The President, Mrs. Ross
Prow tor presided and asked each
mem ber to introduce herself.
Mrs. Proctor reported on the
gift for the hospital New Years'
baby of a white hand knitted set,
presented to Elaine Armstrong,
infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Mac Armstrong,R.R.2,
Teeswater.
Plans for the Spring Luncheon
to be held June 27f.e.with a guest
speaker were discussed.
The Spring Conference will be
held Apr. 25 at South Waterloo
Memorial" Hospital, Cambridge.
The Wingham Hospital Auxiliary
are requested to send six colored
slides depicting highlights of its
work. Several --ideas were
suggested: work of the Cancer
Clinic, Candy Stripers, Gift Case,
Book Cart and others. These
slides will be incorporated with
those of other hospitals and
shown at the Convention of
Ontario Hospital AuxiliariesCnext
Fall.
Annual Reports were then
presented. Secret ary's report by'
Mrs. John Gnay; Cancer Clinic by
Mrs. Geo. Michie. Gift Case by
Mrs. Wm. Forsyth. Hospital
Bridge by Mrs. W.A.McKibbon,
Candy Stripers by Mrs. W.
Connell. Membership by Mrs. R.
Koffman. Tray Favors by Mrs.
Don Vair. Social by Mrs. Jim
Wilson. Correspondence by Mrs.
Robt. Ohara. Treasurer's report
was read by Mrs. Gnay in the
absence of Mrs. Wilf Caslick. No.
Tag Day was held.
Mrs. Forsyth is retiring as
convener of the Gift-Case and was
presented with a gift by Mrs. Bob
Ohara in appreciation of her
efforts and time over the past four
years.
The report 'of the Nominating
Committee was read and
adopted. !Mrs,. Robt. Ritter
installed Mrs. Robt. Ohara, 2nd.
Vice President and Mrs. H.
English as Gift Case Convener.
All other officers ar^ continuing
the 2nd year of their term of
office.
Membership Report showed 70
paid up members and one Life
member.
Mrs. Vair reported that 1100
tray favours had been made for
the many special days during the
year and distributed to hospital
patients and also for Meals on
Wheels.
Discussion followed regarding'
the annual Spring Rummage
Sale. As there are various items
donated by the Hospital, it was
decided to hold a Spring Auction
Sale, April 20 at 7:00 P.M. in the
ARmouries. No RuMmage Sale
will be held until theFall. It is
hoped suitable items for an
Auction Sale will also be donated
'to add to those already received .
Further news on this event at a
later date will be publicized.
A quilt' of Butterfly design has
been completed by Mrs. Vair and
tickets for a draw on the quilt will
be sold and the draw made at the
Spring Luncheon.
An extra large stuffed dog was
donated and the meeting moved
to present this to the R.N.A.
students for a money raising
project for the girls.
The new- committee in charge
of the Gift Case are convener -
Mrs. H. English; Books - Mrs. L.
Grove; Wool purchase - Mrs. R.
Ritter; Knitters - Mrs.
W. Forsyth; Phone - Mrs. J.
Goodall, Mrs. R. Hamilton, Mrs.
Krug, Mrs. McArthur.
As the Auxiliary covers a large
area outside Wingham notices
and write-ups will also be sent to
Teeswater, Luckno)v and Brussels.
. Through this medium the
Membership Committee hope to
enlarge the Auxiliary.
People in these towns come to
Wingham Hospital and are most
welcome to join.
The President reported that
more members are needed and
welcome, especially in the
outlying area.
The Auxiliary assists in a small
way to provide equipment not
covered in the Hospital Budget
but needed for patient care. The
Ambulift chair, purchased this
year is one example of helping
patient and nurse.
Volunteers for the Gift Case
staff are needed. If you can help,
join the Auxiliary where there is a
'job for everybody, the executive
stresses.
