Top item on the order of business was approval of the report from the 1977 Striking COmmittee setting up the various committees and boards for the NEW MORRIS COUNCIL There were some new faces when Morris township council held the r inaugural meeting on Monday. Bergsma. A motion was tabled by trustee D. TEahen that the board request a definition in writing from their solicitor as to what constitutes conflict of interest. Mr. TifYthen was concerned about possible conflicts arising among those appointed to serve on the boards st anding and ad hoc committees, noting that some trustees had wives who were teachers or worked for firms the board utilized. The board will meet again on January 31st, 1977. County Council met Tuesday afternoon with the councillors passing a series of The challenges and demands which the future may bring can only be met through a co- operative effort on the part of all of us - everyone connected in any way in the education of children, newly elected chairman F.J. Vere told trustees of the Huron-Perth County Roman Catholic Separate School Board at a meeting in Dublin Tuesday night. "It is only when schools are places of a Christian community - where learning is based on a creative exchange of experiences and ideas and where people live together in a state of mutual trust and respect that those who come from such school communities will have the desire to bring into action what they have experienced during their formative years' Mr. Vere also stressed the importance of individual trusteeship in his inaugural address, noting that each trustee had unique skills and talents. The main item on the agenda of Tuesday night's meeting was the announcement of appointments to the board's standing and ad hor committees. Appointed to the stanclinL committee on Building and Property was R.. Marcy, who will act as chairman; A Haid, T. Geoffrey, K Montgomery and F. Vere. The committee on Transportation consists of V. young, chairman; W. Kinahan, R. Murray, G. Fleming and F. Vere. The committee on Finance and Insurance is made up of Connolly, chairman; J. O'Leary, J. O'Drowsky, A. Haid and P. Crowley. To the committee on Personnel were appoionted Marcy, chairman; D. Teahen, W, Kinahan, T. Geoffrey and D. Crawley. Those appointed to the ad hoc committees for 1977 were, to the Trustee - Clergy liaison committee, A. Haid, chairman; F. Vere, and M. Connolly; to the Assessment coinmittee, G. Flerifing, chairman; 11, Teahen, J.O'Drowsky and K, Montgomery; to the Teacher negotiating committee, V. Young, chairman; D. Crowley, J. O'Leary And R.• Murray; to the Early next year. Terms of office were established at the same time so the various groups would have one retiring member each year. West Wawanosh Reeve Robert. Lyons was named to chair the 1977 Road Committee for a term of two years. Also serving on the committee will be councillors Ralph McNichol (one year), councillors J. Stafford (a two year appointee), and T.A.Miller (a three year appointee), Also appointed to the Board were private citizens D.H.McKenzie of Dungannon, Mrs. N. Gray of Beigrave and Elgin Thompson of Clinton. Appointment of the 1.977 Property Committee saw Hullett Township Reeve . John Dewitt named to a one year term as chairman. Other committee members will be Simon Hallahan (one year), Robin Lawrie (two years), Ervin Sillery (two years) D.R.MacGregor (three years) and Frank Cook (three years). Goderich Reeve Bill Clifford was named to chair the Planning Board for Huron during the next year. Working with Mr. Clifford will be Grant Stirling (one year), Allan Campbell (two. years), R.M.Williamson (two' years), C.K.Campbell (three years), John Ti nney (four years) and J.C. Krauter (five years). Th omas Consitt, deputy Reeve of Stanley Township, will serve as chairman on the Huronview Board of Management for one year. Other Board members appointed were Joseph Kerr (one year), W.G.Zinn (t wo years) Norman Durst (two years) and R.S.Macauly (three years). Board of Health Chairman for 1977 will be Seaforth Deputy Reeve W.J,Dale. also serving on the Board will be D.A.McNeil (one year); P. D.Steckle (two years), Eileen Palmer (three years) and provincial representa- tive J. ,Morrissey. Cecil Desjardine, Stephen Township Reeve, will serve as chairman of the Huron County Library ' Board for the next year. He will be working with Harold Knight (three years) and W,E.Simmons (three years).. The Development Committee for 1977 will be chaired by Clifford Bray, Grey Township Deputy Reeve. Also appointed wereVV.J.Elston (two years), C. Deichert (two years) J. M. Dawson (three years) and H. Robinson (three years). Usborne Deputy Reeve W.I.Morley will chair the Executive Committee during the next year. Also serving on that committee will be F.E.Haberei (one year), Gerry Ginn (twt years), Ed. Oddleifson (twt years), D.S.Eadie (three years; and R.M.Bell (three years). Social services committee in 1977 will be' made up of J.F.MacDonald (one year), J.F.Flannery (two years), H.E.Wild (two years), H. Elliot (three years) and J.R.Hunking, Deputy Reeve of Hullett Township' as chairman. County Council named . R. Westcott of Exeter, E. Hayter of Varna, G. Reed of Dungannon, J.
