Federation
plans farm
survey
°The Huron County
Federation of Agriculture is going
to do a farm to farm survey of
local farmers, according to OFA
fieldman Bill Crawford of the
Clinton office. The county
Federation, in co-operation with
the township federations, will be
starting the survey in February in
Morris, McKillop and Hullett
townships.
The Federation is co-operating
with local township councils and
including questions that they
would like answers to on the
survey.
Questions that will be common
to all the surveys include some
that ask farmer's opinion on
tarrifs, on supply management
programs and on border controls.
Should the Ontario Federation of
Agriculture be more aggressive,
less aggressive or about the
same, in representing farmers'
interests, the survey asks. Are
there other issues that the
Federation should be involved in;
the survey will ask farmers, both
members and non-members of
the OFA.
A similar survey which was
done in Perth County recently
was very successful, Mr.
Crawford told the Expositor and
the Brussels Post. Local township'
Federation members will do the
survey in their own areas.
