Band members are having a special 25th anniversary Robbie Burns night dance Saturday at the Legion when many former band members are expected to attend. The demand for elec- tricity in Ontario reaches its peak early in the evening on cold winter weekdays. Between 4 and 7, everyone's asking for elec tricity. Many factories, stores and offices are still open. Street lights are on.The kids are home from school, parents home from work, evening meals are being prepared. And the heating system has to work harder. It all adds up. Demands for electric- ity have been increasing at a pace that can no longer be met. The rate of growth must be reduced.. You can help by avoid- ing the big jobs like baking, washing and drying between. 4 and 7. Make sure that unused lights, TVs and appliances are off. Take it easy on the hot water. Please do all you can to save electricity. Conserve energy. The future depends on it. MRS. WILLIAM S. REED The death occurred at her home, 64 Victoria Street, Wingham, on Thursday, January 13, 1977 of Lela Marguerite Leggatt. widow of the late William S. Reed. She was in her .61st year. Mrs. Reed was a forMer resident of Brussels. She. is survived by children, -Gary Reed and Gloria Reed, both of Toronto and by a brother Gordon Leggatt, Wingham. A funeral service was held from the R.A ,Currie and-Son funeral home, Wingham on Saturday. Interment followed in Wingham Cemeter Mrs. Marshall R. Stonehouse Ida 'Myrtle Stonehouse died, after suffering a stroke, at the Wingham and District Hospital on Tuesday, January 11th, 1977. She was the wife of the lite Marshall Russel Stonehouse. She was born March 20, 1904, the daughter of John and Mary (Lawson) Biggin. at Clinton, Ontario. After the death of her mother she was adopted, at age 5, by Robert and Evelitui (McClinton) Henry and came to lot 34, Concession 8, East Wawanosh Township, where she attended the 9th Line elementary school and Westfield Church. On June 17, 1925 she married Marshall Stonehouse and they lived on his farm, Lot 40, Con. 7 until after his death Feb. 18, 1970. She moved to her mobile home on part of C.R.Coultes' lot in Belgrave near her forme? neighbours, Lewis and Vertu Cook. Shc transferred her membership from Westfield ti the Belgrave United Church and her friendly smile and jolly disposition will be sadly missed by her many friends and relatives, She is survived by her brothers, Maitland Henry, Blyth; Frank Biggin, Stratford; . and sisters Mrs. Wm. (Mayme) Pinning, Clinton; Mrs. Wm. (Sadie) Farrow, Mitchell; Mrs. Warrick (Mattie) Cole, Royal Oak, Mich.; and was predeceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Due to the stormy cold weather the complete funeral service was held at the S.J.Walker Funeral Home, 35 Patrick St., Wingham at 2 p.m. with Rev. john G. Roberts of Belgrave United Church conducting the services. Temporary entombment followed at Wingham Cemetery Chapel with Spring burial in Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave. The pallbearers were young men who were her former neighbours.: Eldon Cook, Alan' Dunbar, Robert Taylor of R.R.1, Belgrave, Francis Hallahan, R.R.3, Blyth and David and Paul O'Neil, R.R.1, Wingham. MRS. JACK TAY LOR The sudden death of Mrs. Jack Taylor occurred at her .apartment 50 Market Street, Seaforth, on Tueday. She was in her 93rd year. The • former Margaret (Ettie); Carter, she was the daughter of the late John Carter and Margaret Dodds and was born in McKillop, June 17, 1884. She moved with her parents to Hullett as a child and attended school in that township and continued to live there until retiring to Seaforth in 1960. Her first husband, the late George T. Dale to whom she was married in 1903 predeceased her Later she was married to John Taylor who died in 1964. Mrs. Taylor is survived by a son Lorne Dale of Seaforth, 13 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 6 great great grancdhildren. A son, Alvin Dale of Seaforth predeceased his mother in 1962. She is also survived by two Hydro bills now monthly The approximately 450. customers of the Brussels PUC Are now receiving their hydro bills monthly, council and . PUC • members heard at their inaugural meeting on January, 10, Rate increase of 2$ per cent will go into effect on, the February bills probably. In other council business, councillor Malcolm. Jacobs suggested that crosswalks and a yellow flashing light be installed at the Bank of .Commerce ,corner on Main Sreet. The walks might teach school children to .cross there, councillor: Jacobs said, and the light would slow down cars and trucks coming over the hill into—town. His suggestion will be looked into. Councillor Frank Stretton asked for a monthly statement •of how • much money each department of the village has spent, according to their budgets. A statement will be prepared so that councillors will know each month how much each department has left Council also discussed the naming of an industrial chairman who could answer queries front industries seeking information about locating in Brussels. Painting and new drapes for the Brussels Library will be discussed further before, council makes a decision. sisters Mrs. Gladys Flynn and Mrs.' Lillian McKellar of Seaforth. She was predeceased by, two brothers, James and. John Carter. Rested •at the Whitney Ribey Funeral Home, Seaforth until Thursday at 2 p.m. when a funeral service was conducted by her minister Rev. M. E. Reuber of Northside United Church. Interment will follow in Maitland- - bank Cemetery. Two of her grandchildren are Mt's.
