The Brussels Post, 1977-01-05, Page 4Obituaries Crabbiook 'Visits from Boston MRS. ELEANOR NICHOL Mrs. Eleanor Nichol, Elizabeth Street, Brussels, Ontario, passed away in the Callendar Nursing Home, Brussels, on Sunday, December 12, 1976, in her 87th year. Born in Turnberry Township on October 27th, 1890, eldest daughter of the late Joseph and Rebecca Breckenridge. She was married to Frank Alexander Nichol on April 24, 1912, who predeceased her on October 2, 1955. She was •predeceased by her eldest daughter, Mildred. Rebecca Nichol on December 28, 1969, and is survived by five sons and three daughters: Gordon, Dorothy, Kenneth and Stuart, Tozonto, Glenn, Huntsville, Mrs. Elwood (Eleanor) McCullough, Stratford, Mrs. William (Marjorie) Wray, Hamilton, and Allan Nichol, Brussels. There are ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Nichol was predeceased by two sisters and one brother: Mrs. William (Millie) Nicholson, Mrs. Earle (Eva) Noble and Lee Breckenridge. Surviving are two sisters and one brother: Mrs :William (Ruth) Thuell, Blyth, Mrs. Arthur (Edith) Field, Lambeth and Jim Breckenridge, Wingham. The late Mrs. Nichol rested at the M.L.Watts Funeral Home until Tuesday, December 14, 1976, when the funeral service was conducted by her Minister, Rev. K. Innes, Melville Presby- terian church.. Temporary entombment followed in Brussels Memorial Burial Chapel, with burial later in Brussels Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom Miller, John McArter, Ross Nichol, Alfred Nichol, Lloyd Workman and Gordon Workman. Flower bearers were grandsons Joe Nichol, Kevin Nichol and Rick Wray. A memorial service was conducted by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion, Branch 218, of which the late Mrs. Nichol was a 25 year member. Mr. Carman Fischer aila Miss Evelyn Barton, Rexdale, spent Christmas with his parents, Me. and Mrs. Stanley Fischer. Mr. Da!le Knight and sisterl Linda had Christmas at Picton with Mr. and Mrs. Hector Knight. Mr. Alfred Knight accompanied them and remained for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Curtiss, Alix, Alberta, visited Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conley on Wednesday. Mrs. Patrick Adams, Manotick, and Miss Janet Veitch, London, visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clare Veitch. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Knight and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Knight left on Sunday for Panama City, Florida. Miss Linda Knight is attending Fanshawe College, London.
