Strong prices mean early

The market at Brussels Stock-
yards traded actively at strong
prices and a good demand on all
classes of cattle. Cows sold higher.
Pigs were barely steady. There
were 744 cattle and 726 pigs on
offer.
Choice steers sold from $85 to
$89.50 with sales to $94 per
hundredweight. Good steers were
$82 to $85.50.

The Ontario Ministry of Agricul
ture and Food is offering a two-day
workshop cn soil fertility. The
course will feature the latest
information on nitrogen, phos
phorous, potash, micronutrients,
pH, soil testing manure value and
soil management. The course will
be of most value to individuals who
have not participated in the course
before. Registration

Thirty to 40-lb. pigs traded to a
high of $1.65; 40 to50-lb. pigs to a
high of $1.52; 50 to 60-lb pigs to
a high of $1.40; 60 to 70-lb. pigstoa
high of $1.30; 70 to 80-lb. pigs to a
high of $1.17.
