Organ and piano prelude was by Mrs. Gordon Gross and Mrs. Greg Park. There was a processional by the Junior and Senior choirs singing “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” The Junior choir sang, “The Bells of Christmas” under the direction of Mrs. Allan Webster with Mrs. Gordon Gross as pianist. Both Junior and Senior choirs sang, “Ding dong, Merrily On High” with choir director Lori Millian as pianist. Several carols were sung. The minister told the children’s story and they went to their Sunday School rooms with teachers, Christine Shuttleworth, Sharen Ramsey, Margaret Bakker and Julie Glenn. The senior choir sang “Rejoice, Rejoice”. The minister’s sermon was entitled “When Christ Comes To the World.” Offering was received by Larry Plaetzer and Robert Worsell with prayer and dedication said. A delicious pot luck dinner was served at the Women’s Institute meeting, held at the Community Hall on Tuesday, December 16. Mrs. BudChamney, ViolaRaith- by and Mrs. Tom Haggitt were hostesses. Therewere 12members present and two guests. The president Mrs. Len Ar­ chambault chaired the meeting which opened with Ode, Mary Stewart Collect and O Canada. Grace was sung with Marjorie McDougall as pianist. There was a sing song of Christmas Carols led by Mrs. Tom Jardin and she told the origin of each carol. Mrs. Bud Chamney introduced the guest speaker Rev. Jim Carne of Huron Missionary Chapel. He spoke on “Christmas Questions” Marian Haggitt thanked him. The minutes and the treasurer’s report was given by Mrs. June Peck and approved. The card report was given by Mrs. Tom Jardin. Roll call was two dollars for the blind missions. Members exchanged gifts. Marian Haggitt gave two read­ ings “In fullness of time” and “Lonesome Clothesline”. Prizes for the marked chair was won by Viola Raithby and lucky cup won by Mildred Lawlor. There were five tables in play at the euchre party held Tuesday evening December 16 at the Auburn Community Hall. Winners were high lady, Jewel Plunkett; high man, Gordon Gross; low lady, Jane Giousher; low man, Ken Scott; novelty, Anne Gloush- er. This is the last euchre party until after New Year’s. They will resume on January 6 at 8 p.m. All the blessings of the season to you and your family. We hope that you will find peace and contentment this Christmas and always.
