(W alton I \ /\ / Mrs. Betty McCallI '—1 887-6677 Wl holds supper The Walton Women’s Institute members held their Christmas meeting Wednesday evening, starting with a pot luck supper when 16 ladies sat down in the basement of the hall at decorated tables in the Christmas Theme. Helen Craig conducted the business openingwithareading on Christmas Memories. Margaret Shortreed read minutes followed by correspondence and thank you cards. Volunteers were asked for to clean the hall. Ruth Axtmann and Elva Bolger to do it before Jan. 1. Mesh is to be put around the shrubs in front of hall. A social time led by the Branch Directors and P.R.O. Marjory Humphries led in a sing-song of Christmas Carols. Betty McCall conducted a scrambled word con- testfollowed by Marjory having the word play contest. Maxine Marks had a fun game followed by Mary Humphries in charge of the gift exchange. The evening closed with “We Wish you a Merry Christmas.” Cheery holiday greetings to all our good friends and patrons. It's been a pleasure serving you. 0« Little Bell Rings For’’ had the following characters: Bright Star taken by Jillian Houston; Love by Tina McClure; Peace by Janice McCallum; Mary and Joseph, Kerrie McClure; Joy by Kelly McDonald; Baby Jesus was Carol- anne Gamble. Their teacher was Maxine Marks, assisted by Betty McCallum. A piano solo, “O Little Town of Bethlehem” was played by Shann­ on Craig. A piano solo, * ‘Joy to the World ’ ’ was performed by Barbara Lamble. Primary Class put on a play ‘ ‘The Magic of Christmas”. Taking part were: Narrator, Lisa Gingerich; Little Girl, Sarah Lamble; Star, Lee Ann McDonald; Tree, Chad Mc­ Callum; Train, Neil Saur; Car, Randy Linton; Jem, Stacey Linton; Jack-in-the-box, Amanda Gamble; Fairy, Colleen McCallum. Their teacher is Maxine Houston. Piano solos were performed: “TheSleigh" by Lori McClure; and “Star of the East” by Susan Carter. The Junior class presented three skits. The teachers were Dianne McCallum and Helen Craig. In the first sketch, “What’s Growing under your bed?’’ The reporter was Andrea Gingerich and Kathy was played by Sharon Godkin. A piano duet, ‘‘Silent Night”, was played by Barb and Sarah Lamble. A piano solo, “Away in a Manger” was performed by Sarah Lamble. The second skit was “Be ye Thankful even for your vegeta­ bles.’ ’ The part of Troy was played by Chris Davies; Kevin, Randy McClure; Mark, Chris Saur. The sketch was followed with a dance by Lee Ann McDonald and a piano solo by Andrea Gingerich.
